Author's PoV :

"She knows you're dating me." - Lisa.

~~~~~~~
"I hate you!" Lisa screamed, her hands near her face were clenched into fists, as if she was ready to throw hands. "Oh, do I look like I'm head over heels for you? Go to hell!" Taehyung yelled back at her as they both glared hard at each other.
"You go to hell, that's where you're gonna go anyways for cheating on your girlfriend" Lisa rolled her eyes, making a face at him. "For the nth time Lisa, it was just an encounter, why can't you understand!?" He widened his eyes, looking at her as if she was stupid.
"Even if! Why did you have to be such a good best friend and invite her by yourself? Jungkook has a mouth too!! He could also ask her, it was his chance and you stole it! And it's not like she was gonna be your date anyway if you were thinking anything like that, she knows you're dating me." Lisa crossed her arms with a scoff.
"Yes, that's what I'm trying to say, I just helped Jungkook like a best friend would, what would've you done if you were in my place?" Taehyung thought the question could shut her up, but he was so wrong.
"I would've just said hi and left, I wouldn't have been like you and asked his best friend's future girlfriend to come over someday. Do you think she's stupid? Do you think she didn't know what it meant?" Lisa hissed at him, walking closer in a threatening way.
"We both write poems and wanted to show each other our work, what's the problem in that?" Taehyung knew there must've been something about the way his voice wavered in the end that made the corner of Lisa's mouth twitch upwards, and he was damn sure it wasn't the fact that he was trying hard to act like he wasn't scared of Lisa's angry side.
"What's the problem in that? It's that you and her would read your 'poems' to each other alone in a room. And don't ever try to deny it Taehyung, I know you write love poems. So, do you find it right to read love poems to your best friend's future girlfriend?" She finally smirked, knowing that her reasoning had left him speechless.
He wanted to tell her that Irene wasn't blind to not know that the poems are for Lisa, but somehow, seeing the expression on her face as she had said all that made the words just stuck in his throat. He gulped at the way her eyes watered when he didn't respond, and it was clear to him that he had messed up big time.
"Wow, there really is some shit going on behind my back, huh?" She asked, she was so amused that she didn't even care to wipe the tear that rolled down her cheek. That sentence just bruised Taehyung's ego so bad that he was just furious at her for both doubting him and accusing him for cheating when it wasn't even true.
"Well, w-why do you care if there is? Would you like to look at your own self before blaming everything on me?" He paused, cursing mentally for stuttering. Taehyung and Lisa both knew that he couldn't lie to her, but at the same time, Lisa was too angry to even care about that.
"You're always clinging onto Jungkook, since he came into your life, your likes, dislikes, your everything just started matching with his! When we hang out, he just somehow magically appears and instead of him, I feel like I'm the third wheel!" Lisa flinched at the harsh tone Taehyung was using.
"When we three are together, all your attention is on him! It makes me feel like I'm the one interrupting your date with him and not the other way around! Since he came, you started cutting me off just to let him complete his sentence. Has he become that important to you now?" His question was left unanswered as she still processed what he had said.
"There's clearly no sibling relationship between you both and it shows. You two don't act like siblings being dorks with each other, you both cling onto each other like some couple who just started dating." Taehyung let out a huff, looking away from her who had a river of tears flowing down her cheeks.
"Everything looks better on him, everything he does is better, I feel like even if we'd wear the same clothes or score the same on something, he'd still be better than me for you. I don't even believe you anymore to trust it if you said you were alone after I left your house, and don't lie, I've seen his car pull up at your house more than I should. God knows what happens when I leave the room!" He let it all out.
And honestly, even Lisa knew she could reason it all out, but she realized that she couldn't because. . . even if the way he said it was wrong, it was all true, every word was. The blame was on both of them, they knew that. Maybe he really did start admiring Irene, and maybe she, too, started seeing Jungkook better than Taehyung.
But could they let their relationship shatter now?
Now that his mother started liking Lisa and even started fantasizing their wedding which didn't seem any near to them after this.
Now that his father wanted him to get engaged with Lisa so that he could handle the business and then later get married with her and live a lavish, with her
Now that Jennie and her parents agreed to give Lisa's hand in Taehyung's. Could they let their families down now? Could they take away the happiness and hope they had given to their loved ones?
The answer was simply no.
They couldn't. Even if continuing this relationship meant breaking their own hearts and letting go of something that wasn't even theirs, they had no other choice. They knew that their families would understand, but they both couldn't hurt them this way, after all, three years of their relationship really did mean a lot to their families too.
Lisa and Taehyung gazed helplessly into each others' eyes.
Without a word, Taehyung broke the eye contact and looked down at his feet, a bit hesitant to do what he was thinking to do. "I don't know if this is a break up or not, but I do know that before dating, we were friends. And as a friend, I still want to comfort you" Taehyung walked forward, taking her face in his hands, he wiped her tears.
"Taehyung . . . " Lisa broke down again, throwing herself at him as he wrapped his arms around her just as tight as she did. They said nothing, but those tears that fell on his shoulders were proof that he still meant something to her.
Taehyung and Lisa might've stepped into the party hand in hand with smiles on their faces, but  no one knew what was behind those smiles.
