Mistaken

Chapter #40

Author's PoV :

"Did you guys fight?" - Chaeyoung.

"And lastly, let's give a round of applause for the organizers of this evening, Mr Jung Hoseok and Miss Park Chaeyoung." Everyone clapped for Hoseok and Chaeyoung as they gave their pretty smiles to the crowd.

"You did great, babe." Jimin kissed the back of Chaeyoung's hand when she stepped down from the stage. "You had a big role in this too, chimmy. You helped me choose the theme!" She giggled out loud.

Jimin's eyes caught Hoseok's, and the older boy gave him a knowing look as he wrapped an arm around Momo. Jimin knew what that look meant, but he just looked away, ignoring it. "You guys have fun, we'll be going now" Momo smiled at the two before she pulled Hoseok away with her, leaving Jimin and Chaeyoung engulfed in a silence.

"Hoseok looks tense around you, did you guys fight?" Jimin almost flinched at the sudden question from her, and he was even more scared to answer her when he saw that smile on her face as she was looking around.

He hadn't really expected Chaeyoung to notice the tension between him and Hoseok, and he realized Momo had noticed it too when from the corner of his eye he saw the said girl asking Hoseok something with a glare.

Was it that obvious? Jimin wondered.

"No, why?" He lied gracefully, raising a brow when she averted her eyes from the starry sky and looked at him instead. "Just asking, he was glaring at you earlier so I thought you guys might've argued or something" Chaeyoung shrugged nonchalantly with a shake of her head.

However, Jimin still wasn't satisfied with her answer. What if she was also pretending to know nothing like Hoseok was? What if behind his back Hoseok had told her everything? Jimin quickly brushed the thoughts away, he shouldn't be nervous about this.

Even though he didn't trust Hoseok with it, he didn't trust Chaeyoung with it either, because just what if? What if they were playing him back?

Flashback :-

"I'm back for revenge" Jimin stopped his words just there, not wanting to tell him anything more than that. "I knew that." Hoseok rolled his eyes at him. "What more have you got there? What's the planning?" Of course Hoseok was aware that he won't be able to get much out of Jimin, but he knew Jimin blurted out whatever was going on in his mind when he was pissed.

"You're going to tell Chaeyoung" Jimin said as a matter-of-fact. "I won't" Hoseok gave his ex-best friend a look. "I don't trust you" Jimin mocked his expression. "Well, I knew who you were all along but I kept quiet. But now that you both are dating, I couldn't help but question your actions, Jimin" The elder one reasoned out, taking a deep breath.

Flashback Ends :-

Yeah, he wouldn't like to know the answer to that one. He doubted the pair equally, but somewhere deep inside, he believed that Hoseok would never turn back on his words, he had promised to never tell Chaeyoung about it.

Jimin let out a shaky breath, glancing at the beautiful girl beside him. Her innocent face was decorated with a cheeky smile which she was giving to Jennie.

He was snapped out of it when she abruptly turned to face him. "We missed the dance," Chaeyoung pouted, punching his arm lightly. "But you needed time to get ready, didn't you? And it's the dry cleaners fault that he delivered your dress late." Jimin pouted back, making her laugh.

"Chaeng!" And there it goes again.

"Liz!" She hugged Lisa back with excitement. "Hold on, what's this?" Chaeyoung bluntly asked when she pulled away, wiping some lipstick from the corner of Lisa's mouth. Lisa wordlessly looked down, confusing her friend even more.

"Love - Oh hi guys" Taehyung came shortly after, greeting the couple when he saw them. His own lips were in a pink shade which right now matched Lisa's cheeks, and with that alone Jimin and Chaeyoung connected the dots and broke into teasing smiles.

"Looks like someone couldn't resist, huh?" Chaeyoung teased them both, making Taehyung laugh in embarrassment and scratch his nape whereas Lisa stood there like a statue. "MOVING ON, we're going to Maldives!" Lisa told her friend with a small jump, ignoring the girl's previous comment.

"Really? Oh my gosh that's great! When!?" Chaeyoung squealed back, they were holding hands by now. "The day after tomorrow!" And the two started squealing like crazy. "Where's Jennie unnie? Let's go tell her" Lisa dragged Chaeyoung with her, making Taehyung and Jimin share a look.

The two burst out laughing as they high - fived each other, watching their girlfriends looking around to find Jennie.

And just like that, the night ended well after all.

Taehyung and Lisa patched up, Jimin managed to spend his time there without running into his ex-best friend aka Hoseok,

But did their story stop here? . . . 

 . . . Of course it didn't.

(A/N: I can imagine Lisa saying "MOVING ON" The same way Bang Chan said "MOVING ON" after he called himself stays' daddy lol.
