Mistaken

Chapter #47

Author's PoV :

"You're just using me!" - Seulgi.

"I'm done, dad." Seulgi admitted, letting out a huff. "But you haven't even met him yet," Mr Kim tried to convince her again, but she wasn't having it. "I've tried calling him, I've tried texting him hi and hello, but he ignored me. I wonder how Taehyung is even friends with him." Seulgi looked over to Taehyung and Lisa who were sitting next to her, unaware of everything.

"Sorry to interrupt, but who are you both talking about, father?" Taehyung questioned, confused about the whole conversation. "Park Jimin." Mr Kim answered him, making the couple glance at each other with wide eyes.

"Wait a minute, why would you call Jimin or text him, Seulgi?" He looked over to his sister, who just shrugged. "We're getting married," She replied with a bored expression, picking at her nails. "You WHAT?" Lisa and Taehyung asked in sync.

"Yeah, but it's just some business deal between Mr Park and dad" She quickly added to avoid all the questions that she knew were circling in Taehyung's mind. "Seulgi." Mr Kim glared at her for choosing such words, but it seemed like she was really just done from everything.

"What, dad? It's reality. You both are working on some project together, aren't you? And just to make sure that his father doesn't back out from it like your last partner did, you're getting us married." Seulgi glared back at him, annoyed with her father's behavior.

It was true that her father had given her a lot of freedom, but she was tired from it. It wasn't freedom; it was carelessness. She wanted him to show her that he cared for her, that he loved her, but who was she kidding?

Heck, when was the last time he had hugged her and told her that he was her protector and that he would always be there for her? She didn't even remember, maybe it was around the time her parents had divorced and she had cried all night because of it.

"But Seul, aren't you with Mark?" Taehyung words caught both Mr Kim and Seulgi's attention, but for different reasons. Seulgi was surprised to hear her old nickname, and even Taehyung was amused at how the nickname that he used to call her when they were young had just slipped out so carelessly.

Maybe they both couldn't keep up with the acts anymore, they were thrown away from each other just because of their parents' decision, but what wrong had the poor children done to have to stay away from each other?

The only time Taehyung had felt like he had Seulgi back was when she appeared at his engagement, which was all unexpectedly planned and organized by her. 

The two siblings glanced at each other with smiles growing on their faces, and even Lisa couldn't hide her smile.

Their engagement had brought out the genuine feelings of both Seulgi and Taehyung, and they silently thanked heavens for finally being able to let the masks drop.

"What? Seulgi, when were you in a relationship?" Mr Kim ruined the mood, and Lisa tried hard not to roll her eyes at how rude the action was even when the man knew that after years, Taehyung and Seulgi had shared a moment of pure serene and peace of knowing that they were still important to each other.

Seulgi wiped the tear that rolled down her cheek. It might've sounded like something so normal for Taehyung call someone a nickname since she knew her brother liked to do that, but it meant so much when it came to her. That single nickname brought back millions of memories for both of them.

She had missed this. She missed seeing that small gleam in Taehyung's eyes whenever he would smile at her. She missed it when he cared for her. She missed those times when they used to bicker over the smallest things.

She missed buying things for him, and treasuring all of the gifts he used to give her. She missed spending time with him. She missed the softness in his voice that he used for when he talked with her.

She missed her brother and everything about him, she missed her sweet and weird and out of this world brother.

Seulgi missed Taehyung and their relationship so much.

"If you ever stayed home and talked about my life with me rather than selling me off to someone for some crappy business deal then you'd know! If you ever took interest in who I was and what I liked then you'd know!"

"Stop trying to control my life, stop leaving and coming back to me thinking that I'd still be in the same place standing there to oblige to whatever you want me to do!" Seulgi burst at him, making him startled.

"Stop acting like you care when you're just using me!"
