Chapter #48

Author's PoV :

"He had always been wrong." - Taehyung.

"I'm glad Tae chose to live with mom instead of you, I wish I had chosen her too. Maybe then, I wouldn't have been here." Seulgi stood up from her chair, a dangerous look reflecting from her eyes.

"If you had chosen that pathetic--"

"Don't. Don't you dare call my mother pathetic." She warned, but he just let out a small 'tsk' at her.

"You wouldn't have all this luxury if you had chosen her, you wouldn't have had your career, you wouldn't have all this comfort and this lavish life. Tell me, do you still want to go to her? I can take you back to her, but remember, then you wouldn't get anything from your share in the property" Mr Kim challenged her.

Seulgi stared back at him in disbelief; she couldn't wrap her head around the fact that this man in front of her was her own father. He used to be someone she looked up to, and now when she looked at him, she found herself grimacing.

Seulgi scoffed, waiting for him to continue. "Look, Seulgi, I have invested a lot of money in this deal, and if this doesn't happen then the company would face great loss. Would you want your father to beg people for business deals now?" He frowned at her.

But Seulgi was definitely smarter than this, and she knew his tactics. "It won't work on me this time, Mr Kim" She smirked, proud of herself for addressing him as Mr Kim. After all, this man was nothing like her father, he didn't care for them anymore, he only cared for his money and his company.

"Seul, you don't have to start this again," Taehyung finally decided to step in and grabbed Seulgi's wrist, pulling her to sit down. "Father, she won't marry Jimin. Why do they have to commit like this, even if it's just for the media's eyes?" Taehyung questioned, silencing the room like always.

"They could just say that they're dating, when they're just pretending to do so. I don't want to give my sister to Jimin, he's my best friend but I don't him to become my brother in law. And it's not like Seulgi is even interested in him, she's in a relationship and so is Jimin, so I can definitely say that he's going to reject this as well."

Taehyung stood up with both Lisa and Seulgi on both his sides as he glanced at them, and then looked back at his father. "I'm the heir of this company, and I'm her older brother, so I have all the rights to make this decision. Come on, Love. Come on Seul" With that, he walked out of the office.

"Thank you, Taehyung and Lisa," Seulgi smiled at the couple once they were in the elevator. "Not a problem, teddy bear" Taehyung giggled as he ruffled her hair. "What the- Hey! I have a meeting, don't mess my hair up!" Lisa couldn't help her laugh when Seulgi pouted with a whine.

"Okay, but now you have to listen to me Seulgi. Promise me that you won't fight with father on this issue again, I'll handle everything by myself" She nodded at him firmly, still not a bit relieved about it, but it wasn't like she had a choice against Taehyung.

"And also, Lali here was a bit shy to ask you to hang out, so she told me to ask you instead" Taehyung changed the topic, but was instantly pushed to the side by Lisa. "Taehyung!" Lisa glared at him jokingly, trying to hide her red cheeks.

"No no, it's totally alright Lisa. Let's plan a girls day out once you both get back to Korea, since I'll have to go back by tomorrow morning, yeah?" Seulgi suggested, and Lisa gave her a polite smile in return to her question.

"Okay then, see you both later at the hotel!" Seulgi ran out of the elevator grinning as she waved at them both, wrapping her white scarf around her neck.

"Do you think your dad would really forbid Seulgi from having any shares in the company?" Lisa decided to ask the quiet boy beside her as they slowly walked out of the building. "I don't know, I don't even know him anymore" Taehyung sighed.

"I still can't believe anything that has been going on in the past few days, I never thought the issue would go this far after their argument." He said, disappointment evident on his face.

"But why is he so cruel to you both"? Lisa couldn't help but ask, because she was really confused as to why the man was so annoyed with his two children. "Because we know that he had always been wrong and mom was always right" Taehyung paused to open the car door for her.

"He was cheating on her and when she questioned him about it, he twisted her words and accused her back for doing the same thing. It was as simple as that; admitting his crime. But like another person at fault would do, he lied. And till this day he's lying and telling himself that whatever he's doing is right" He explained.

"Maybe it was meant to be that way, Taehyung. It's alright, me and Seulgi are with you, aren't we?" Lisa gave him a warm smile, which didn't fail to lift up his mood that was down from the previous events.

"By the way, I heard from your mom that she was really enjoying the hotel manager's company, do you think something could work out here?" Lisa decided to change the topic, and he laughed at her words.

"I hope it does," He nodded with a small smile and looked out of the window. She nodded too, debating whether she should tell him that she had met Jungkook and Irene earlier or not.

But in the end, she figured she shouldn't bother him more since she could already see unleashed anger behind the calmness of his face.
