"I trusted you with my life." - Seulgi.
~~~~~~~
An unknown number appeared on Jimin's phone screen. He stared at it for a moment, trying to figure out if he knew the number. He didn't, but he thought it could possibly be Jisung, Hyunjin or Felix since he hadn't saved their numbers yet.
He slowly reached out to take his phone, careful not to wake up Chaeyoung who was sleeping with her head rested on his chest, her soft snores filling up the silent lounge. Swiping the receive button, he pressed the phone against his ear.
"Hello?" He spoke quietly. "Hello, is this Park Jimin?" The feminine voice on the other side asked, and Jimin was sure he didn't recognize that voice. "Yes, may I know who is this?" He asked.
"Kim Seulgi."
Jimin's eyes went wide, and his first instinct was to ask her how she got his number. "Don't worry, I got your number from Taehyung." She answered quickly before he could even speak.
"Ah, Okay. So, how are you doing, Seulgi?" Jimin was a bit confused what to talk about, since she still hadn't stated the point of calling him in the first place. "I'm doing fine, Jimin, how about you?" Her voice seemed to get hoarse suddenly, and she even sniffed.
"I'm great. So . . um . . . can I know the reason behind this call?" He chuckled, trying to make it less awkward. "Well I-" She was interrupted by another voice, but Jimin failed to hear it since it seemed to be quite far away from her.
"I'm in Maldives for Lisa and Taehyung's engagement, I'll be coming back to Korea tomorrow. I just wanted to ask you a small favor . . can we please meet? I want to talk to you about something very important."
She wanted to meet him.
She wanted to talk with him.
Jimin's hopes seemed to go up high as he started thinking that there was big chance she was trying to get out of this marriage and that was the only reason she wanted to meet him?
Or what if she was just asking to meet to clear out things between them about how this was only a contract marriage and that after it he can't control her or something?
Yeah, he'd rather go with the first thought.
The girl didn't even sound near as confident as she did when he had me her for the first time, and as far as Jimin knew, Kim Seulgi doesn't know how to say the word 'please'.
"Sure, when and where?"
"At 7 PM, XXXX restaurant, would that be fine?" She sniffed again, Jimin pondered if she had been crying? Or did she catch a cold?
"Are you okay, Seulgi?" He couldn't help but ask. "Yes, I'm perfectly fine! See you tomorrow, Jimin. I'll get going now." She tried to cover up her sniffs with forced laughs. She was lying, and Jimin could tell that.
"Okay then, have a good day." Jimin decided not to push it further, he wasn't her friend nor did he even know her personally. "You too!" The suspicious girl tried to sound cheerful, she really tried. "Goodbye." Jimin hanged up, lost in a thought.
Why was she crying?
~*~
"Damn it."
Seulgi leaned on the headboard of her bed with her knees close to her chest, her mind replaying the argument she had with Taehyung earlier. She threw her head back as endless tears escaped her eyes, falling down on her hands.
"Why a diamond?"
"Because you're a diamond, and I treasure you more than anything in the world,"
"I love you, Mark."
"I love you more, Seulgi."
She ripped the diamond-shaped pendant off her neck and threw it away, choking on a sob.
Great. Just Great.
Just this morning Taehyung had stood up for her and her relationship with Mark, and right now, the picture displayed on her phone screen that she had gotten from Instagram had shattered all her dreams.
The phone buzzed for the nth time, and she was too tired to ignore it anymore so she picked it up. "What do you want?" She cried, her voice cracking at the end.
"Don't ignore me like this, Seulgi, I'm coming there" Mark told her, his voice sounded like he had been crying as well.
"What is left between us now? I don't want to see you anymore, you jerk! I trusted you with my life!" Seulgi managed to voice up, and immediately hung up on him.
No matter how much her heart told her that maybe, just maybe he was telling the truth, and that it was a misunderstanding, she couldn't believe it. It looked far too real to be an edit, and she was sure it was Mark, and not someone else.
Everything was over now.
Her phone kept on buzzing, but she ignored it, holding her head in her hands as she cried and cried to no end.
What was she going to do now?
(A/N: A chapter as an apology, idk when i'll have time to write a new one but I hope i update this sooon luvies!!)
