As I pack the last of my memories from Camp Jupiter and its members, I take one last long look at it. It's been four years since the death of the seven at the hand of Gaea and three years since the rest of the demigods both Greek and Roman died at the hand of Tartarus in an act of revenge. It had been a while since I have actually left Camp Jupiter or Camp Half-Blood. I was too distraught to have lost my only family at the young age of twelve and couldn't shake the rump I had fallen into.
Now at sixteen, I was ready to move on after finally realizing I couldn't spend forever moping around my family's old home. Also, Clarisse visited me when I was moping around the barricks of Camp Jupiter and sort of yelled at me to get my butt out of the camps and into a normal life but only with a couple Clarisse insults into her rant which was probably the only reason it got me to pack boxes full of my memories of my family ranging from small items like Nico's ring to bigger items like Thalia's shield. As I packed, I also searched for homes for sale in relatively small towns since I didn't want to live in a bustling city like New York but I also didn't want to live in a small town where everyone knew everyone which would make it hard for me to hide my powers. Thus I settled on the town of Beacon Hills located right here in California. It had about 30,000 people living in the town which was just big enough to hide my powers but not too big so I felt overwhelmed.
So, after taking some time to purchase a home using the money that Pluto gave me, I packed up all the memorabilia into my grey sports car that runs on my powers, which I can thank Hephaestus for, before beginning the drive up the freeway toward Beacon Hills. Even though I could shadow travel both the car and the items in it to the home, I figured it would be best for me to actually drive there so the mortals there wouldn't suspect anything especially with the Mist acting all wonky aka it is failing. It didn't take long for me to pull off the freeway and onto the road that led to town.
It was different than I was used to since I was used to New York's bustling streets but here it was quiet with the woods and the small amount of people who actually live here. My first agenda was finding the house I purchased. As I drove through town toward the house, I had to drive by the high school which was just being dismissed I could see some of the students gathered outside laughing and talking as some slid into their cars. Others who were busy walking or talking with their friends looked at my car curiously as I drove by. Obviously, I was the new kid and I seemed to be alone so that made for some curious eyes as I drove past. I planned to enroll tomorrow even though it was a Friday and there would probably be a lot of projects or tests or both tomorrow but I figured if I had homework or something I could complete it over the weekend or while the other students are taking their tests or quizzes.
Eventually I pull down a neighborhood street before coming to stop at my home. It was a really nice two story house with a nice small porch on the front. I smiled up at the house feeling happy for once before grabbing my key and my first box of memorabilia and walking toward the door. As I open the door, I hear a honk behind me. I turn and shake my head in disbelief as I see a moving truck pull up on the driveway next to my sports car. Behind the wheel was Hermes and I could see squeezing in the passenger seats were Ares and Hephaustus.
"What are you three doing here?" I say setting the box down just inside the house before making my way down the driveway toward my dads.
"We thought we help you move in." Hermes said grinning as he swings open the door to the truck. Inside was a lot of beautiful furniture that I knew my parents made themselves.
"Let me guess, you guys made this with your powers and now you are going to have spend the next few years recovering from it." I smirk at them.
"Yeah, well. You're out last child." Ares said rubbing his neck sheepishly, "We're not going to be using it on anybody else for a while."
