When Erica and Boyd showed up with Atlantia, I almost lost it. I was so angry at myself that I let those two pups go when I knew that it was trap. They got hurt and I didn't do anything to help them. It was all Atlantia.
I didn't have a chance to thank her and I wanted to check on her after Jackson was resurrected but I got held up making sure Jackson was safe and would be safe for anybody he comes in contact with, mainly his parents. It took a while but once I was sure that Jackson was fine, I used the excuse of wanting to properly thank Atlantia for saving Erica and Boyd to go visit her. Peter saw through my lie as he muttered under his breath, "I'm sure you would." It's a wonder why nobody likes him.
When I got to her house, I ended up climbing through her window since I could hear she was in the shower and I didn't particularly want to be standing outside her door waiting for her to be done. There was a chair in the corner of the room near the window so I slide into it to wait for Atlantia. The room was dark as she wasn't in it but I could still see her personality in the room. It truly represented her as it had some girly elements but it also contained some warrior elements as she had some weapons hanging on the wall. Though I had a feeling that they were there as a reminder instead of actually as something to defend her.
Lost in my thoughts, I didn't know Atlantia was done with her shower till I heard her footsteps coming down the hall. She pushes open the door letting the light from the hallway come inside the room. Atlantia freezes when she spots me sitting there. I see her hesitate as she doesn't recognize at me first but she gets it eventually.
"Derek?" She finally says before flipping on the lights, "What are you doing here?" It was then I realized that she was just wrapped in a towel and Atlantia must have realized that too because in an instant some shorts and a t-shirt was on her.
"I wanted to check on you," I grunt out as she leans against a wall.
"You could have used the front door." Atlantia smirks, "You did the last time you were here."
"Not true, I used the window when I brought you home from Deacon's." I blurt out before I realized what I was saying. She sort of made me not want to lie or at least about the little things like that. Or more specifically, when I was talking about her since I lied about a lot of things.
"Figured that was you as Deacon doesn't have permission to be in my home yet and Scott says he left me with you and Deacon." She says, "Why did you do that? You could have left me at Deacon's or just dropped me on my bed but you actually tucked me under my blankets and made sure I was comfortable. You don't seem like the kind of person to do that." I stand and close the distance between us so I was right next to her and looking down at the young teen. She wasn't that tall which is why she may favor heels but I thought her height was perfect for my frame.
"Maybe I am." I smirk, "but only to you." I took a risk but I leaned down and gently put my lips on her. Even before I decided to kiss her, I figured she would push me away but she actually began to kiss back. I took that as an incentive so I began to kiss her more passionately before she gently pulled herself away with a guilty look on her face.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let you done that." Atlantia says. "I'm not sure I'm ready for a relationship. It's taken me four years to move on from my family's death but I'm not sure I'm ready for that step yet."
"I understand," I say and I did. I still blame myself for my family's deaths and would probably continue to do so for the rest of my life. "More than you know but please, just let me show you where this could go. No expectations. No plan. Just us seeing what could happen."
"I can agree with that but I can't promise anything." Atlantia says, "I mean you're hot and I do like you but because every time I love someone they die, I'm not sure I can let myself love you."
