I left the Underworld shortly after my father had told me that I was the cause of my friends' hallucinations and stuck between life and death situation. Deep down I knew it wasn't fully my fault but it didn't help the guilty feeling I had since I had technically given them the problem.

When I had reached the mortal world, I wasn't surprised to see the probably ten minute interaction that I had with my father took all night up here. I had to head straight back to the class and it wasn't fun working on no sleep but I dealt with it. It wasn't the first time I pulled an all nighter and it wouldn't be the last. I had to talk to Scott and the rest of them but the only time we could find was at lunch.

"What was your dad's diagnosis?" Stiles asks me as I slid onto the bench next to him.

"Apparently, I am the one causing your symptoms," I say rubbing my eyes as I discretely summon a coffee so I could stay awake.

"Wait seriously?" Allison says surprised. "How?"

"Apparently, because I gave you three, part of my soul as a lifeline when you guys went under and you guys are each afraid of something, you are latching onto my soul still. It is keeping you from fully returning to the living." I explain.

"What do you mean, afraid?" Stiles asks me.

I shrug, "I don't know. I'm just quoting my Dad here. Your visions or hallucination revolve around what you are afraid of." I gesture to Scott, "You are afraid of your Alpha powers and what it means," I nod to Allison, "You are afraid of becoming your Aunt and dying like your Aunt had." I look at Stiles, "You are afraid of accepting the truth of the supernatural so you are blurring reality with the dream world that you believe the supernatural are." I sigh, "You need to let go of my soul if you want to live."

"How do we do that?" Scott asks.

"Honestly, I don't know. It's up to you to figure out why you are afraid and how you can solve the problem." I say, "It's something personal but I would figure it has something to do with overcoming your fear."

"It still doesn't help that you three are still hallucinating and unable to tell what's real or not." Isaac says.

"Can you at least try to be helpful, please?" Stiles says glaring at Isaac.

"For half my childhood, I was locked in a freezer so being helpful is kind of a new thing for me." Isaac snaps.

Stiles scoffs, "Hey, dude are you still milking that?"

"Yeah, maybe I am still milking that!" Isaac says annoyed. Erica holds him back as someone approaches our table.

"Hi," A quiet voice says. I turn and see that new girl, Kira, standing there, "Hi, sorry. I couldn't help overhearing what you guys were talking about..." I raise an eyebrow at that because I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. "I don't know how to help you with the soul thing but the state you were talking about, I actually might know what you're talking about." She slides down onto bench next to Scott forcing him to scoot slightly toward Erica and Boyd, "There's a Tibetan word for it, it's called 'Bardo'. It literally means 'in-between state.' The state between life and death."

"And what do they call you?" Lydia asks a little condescending.

"Kira." Scott replies making Lydia snap her eyes toward him with a surprise look in her face so Scott adds, "She's in our history class."

"So, are you talking Bardo in Tibetan Buddhism or Indian?" Lydia asks still eyeing Kira carefully.

Kira shrugs, "Either I guess...but all the stuff you guys were just saying? All that happens in Bardo. There are different progressive states where you can have hallucinations. Some you see, some you just hear. And you can be visited by peaceful or wrathful deities."
