It felt weird entering Derek's apartment without him there and with Atlantia by my side. I wasn't alone since Lydia and Scott were right there with me but it felt awkward. Atlantia was his mate as Scott called it once which for some reason made me feel miserable. It was weird especially since I noticed not too long ago that I lost my crush on Lydia but I didn't think I had one growing on Atlantia. I was just going to ignore it as she was very much smitten with Derek and nothing was going to change that. For anyone who knew her, you could see the worry that she hid behind her eyes for him since he has been gone for weeks without any contact but for anyone who didn't, you wouldn't know something was wrong with her.
"Where are they?" Atlantia says breaking me from my train of thought. She was looking around the entryway of the apartment confused.
"They said they'd meet us here." Lydia says just as I see Atlantia's eyes light up in realization but before she could do anything, Ethan and Aiden appear out of no where and shove Scott down the stairs that were in front of the door. He falls down and the twins proceed to beat the crap out of him. Atlantia moved to go help but she freezes like she heard something. She stops and stands closer to Lydia and I. Atlantia held her arm out stopping Lydia and I from going to help him but I doubt either of us thought we could help him. There were two werewolves who had given into their strengths as wolves right in front of us. I was not going to get in between them if the one girl who could easily defeat them was holding back.
"I thought you guys were gonna teach me to roar?" Scott groans out.
"We are!" Aiden corrects. He steps forward and kicks Scott in his side, "You do it by giving in--"
"--Giving in and letting go!" Ethan continued, dropping his own kick, "That's how Deucalion taught us control."
"Hey, you know, that's funny," I say, "I've actually tried something like this one time, using a heart monitor and across balls." I swallow when I see the twins turn their gaze on me, "But you're right, beating the living crap out of him is probably a lot better."
"That's actually the plan?" Scott interrupts, "You kick my ass?"
"You're afraid to turn." Aiden says.
"We're gonna make you." Ethan says, "You turn, then you kick our asses."
"And then, you roar." Aiden says before letting out a roar of his own.
"He's right." Atlantia says making everyone stop and turn to her, "You don't let out your Alpha roar or my siren shriek until you give in. My siren and I have a mutual agreement." Her eyes slit as I see her siren come out slightly, "You don't roar, your wolf does so you have to let it bond with you. You have to give it some leeway."
"I like her explanation better." I say making the twins scoff.
"You don't think you can let go with us?" Aiden taunts Scott, trying to get him to let go.
"You think you're going to hurt us?" Ethan continued.
"Come on, McCall! Give it your all!" Aiden shouts.
"We can always heal!" Ethan points out before Scott takes a few swings but he wasn't putting much force behind it, allowing Ethan to easily slam him to the ground.
"You're an Alpha. You want to roar like one?" Aiden growls, "You've got to give in, full-throttle. You've got to be the monster. Become the beast."
"Become everything you're afraid of." Ethan says making me jerk my head toward Atlantia.
"This is what is keeping Scott from returning your soul." I whisper to her. She nods her head in agreement as she turns back to watch the twins.
"That's what gives you power. It gives you strength." Ethan continued circling Scott.
