Derek may not have wanted me to come but I was not going to let him die. Isaac was able to recruit Boyd and Erica to help us which was great. Boyd actually came up with a plan that might keep Derek from getting mad as it involved me just being there just in case it failed.
"Go back to school," Is Derek's first words to us when we stepped into his condo.
"Well, actually, we can't." Isaac says grinning, "Boyd, Eric, Atlantia, and I are incredibly and unbelievably sick."
"With what?" Derek scoffed. He was sitting on one of the steps of his stairs, "Brain damage?"
"Well, I have a migraine, Boyd here, uh, has explosive diarrhea," Issac explains, "and Erica and Atlantia..."
"are taking a mental health day for our troubled minds from our kidnapping," I say, "Derek, we're here to protect you."
"You're here to protect me?" Derek said raising an eyebrow as he walks down the stairs, "The Alphas would walk through these three pups before drugging you to use as a weapon against me. So, I'm in trouble."
"Well, then it might be good for you to know that Boyd has come up with a plan." I say before turning to Boyd.
"Yeah, I thought about the time Gerard had me and Erica locked up, tied up with electrical wires pushing currents through us." Boyd begins kneeling down to unzip his bag. "I was wondering how we could do something like that..." He pulls out a group of wires, "but on a bigger scale." He pushes himself up as he drops the wirse on top of his bag.
"In a pool of electrified water, it can take up to fifty milliamps to kill a normal human," Boyd says as he grabs the hose that was laying in the corner of the condo. He turns it on and begins to spill water all over the floor. "less than the power it takes to turn on a light bulb."
"That's...comforting," Derek says sarcastically.
"If we disable to circuit interrupter in the building's electrical room, the current will keep coming, and anyone who steps foot in here? They'll get a pretty shocking surprise."
"Especially someone who's barefoot," Isaac adds. Derek nods approvingly before looking at me.
"You need to hide, Atlantia. Go up the stairs and hide in my bedroom." Derek orders, "Kali may die from the electrified water but there is still a chance she will find a way to escape it. Please!"
"Fine, Derek. I will let you be my protector." I say before beginning the walk to the stairs, "But I will be down here in a split second if I sense you or one of these three wolves are in trouble." Derek nods before I walk up the stairs and lean on the railing up there to watch them finish preparing. I watch them turn off the circuit interrupter before throwing the charged wires into the water.
"Is this gonna kill 'em?" Isaac asks after the water sparked with electricity from the wires.
"I hope so." Boyd admits as a silence falls over all of us. Night falls and there were no signs of Kali or the other Alphas. However, Isaac eventually glanced up from the wood section he was sitting on to the power box.
"Isn't that light supposed to be on?" Isaac asks.
"Yeah," Derek says his mouth drawn into a firm line. He glances up at me and I could see the determination to protect me and I knew that wasn't good.
"What does it mean if it's not?" Erica asks as she and Boyd helped each other up.
"Someone cut the auxiliary power." Derek says.
"What about the main..." Boyd never finished that statement as all the lights flick off with a loud bang. Derek steps into the water knowing the power is off. He stands in the middle of his condo and I see his red eyes appear.
