When I awoke, I found myself in Derek's bedroom and I realized that I had been here for a while as my internal clock told me it had been a week. I guess the loss of blood was bad and judging by the lack of an aftertaste, Derek forgot about nectar or ambrosia or he could have possibly thought it was unnecessary at first but then I began to heal so it became unnecessary. Either way, I had to tear the bandages that were around my body off before I could jump in his shower so I could get the smell of death off of me. Once I stepped out of the shower, I could hear a familiar voice coming from downstairs. I got dressed and quickly made my way down the stairs and was surprised to find Braeden sitting in a chair across from Derek and Peter who sat on the couch.
"What's going on?" I ask as I made my way down the stairs. Derek and Peter jump when they see me at the bottom of the stairs.
"Atlantia," Derek says. I could tell he had been worried for me if the bags under his eyes were a sign. He gives me a small kiss before he pulls me into a hug though I know he used the hug to get a discreet look at the wounds on my back.
"What's going on?" I say looking at Braedon who looked very relaxed with her feet on the coffee table.
"Your boyfriend and his Uncle were robbed." Braeden smirks.
"What?" I say as Derek pulls me to sit on the couch with him and Peter.
"I'll fill you in later." Derek whispers in my ear and I nod as I notice Peter looking at Braedon's boots in disgust.
"That table's italian." Peter says, annoyed.
Braeden just shrugs, "So are these boots." But she takes her feet off the table if only to slide a piece of paper over to Peter, "Are we going to talk interior design and fashion, or are we going to talk numbers?" Peter scoffs before he writes a number on the paper and slides it over to her. She takes on glance at it before she crosses it out and writes a new number. Braeden slides the paper over to Peter and he takes one look at it before scratching it out and writing another number. He slides it over but Braeden slides it right back not backening down from her number.
"We're hiring you to find Kate, not assassinate the president." Peter scoffs.
"I was hirded by the Calaveras to find Kate. You're hiring me to find her first." Braeden leans back in her seat, "Going against the Calaveras is what's going to cost you." I took a glance at the number and I reasoned that it wouldn't put a dent in my own fortune as I had access to Pluto's, the roman god of death and riches, vault.
"I'll pay it. Just find Kate." I say sliding the paper over to her. Braeden looks at me curiously before nodding. She grabs the paper and walks out of the room making Peter turn to me.
"Why did you agree to pay her?" Peter asks me.
"Because it was obvious she wasn't budging and you don't have enough money to pay her. I do and since Derek is my boyfriend and this is his issue, I figured I should help as his girlfriend." I say looking at Peter looking at him, waiting for his reaction but it never comes.
"Well, we better hope you didn't waste your money because if we don't find out who told Kate about the vault, we don't get those bonds back." He looks at Derek, "What do you think I'm gonna do then, huh? Get a job? My resume is slightly out of date!" I think he was taking out his anger on Derek because he can't take it out on himself. I could see in my visions that someone threw a grenade filled with wolfbane to stun Peter so that someone could steal the bonds and it happened right in front of Peter. I knew why he was mad but he didn't need to take it out on us. "We got robbed Derek! Robbed!" That last robbed sounded more of a roar which makes Derek retaliate with his own. It was then I got a closer look at his eyes when he wolfed out. They were yellow instead of the blue that I was used to seeing.
