Stiles and I had watched Scott go before we started searching for anything that might be useful. It wouldn't be a good use of our time to just stand there so Stiles and I began to search for anything that might clue us into what happened.

"Hey Atlantia!" Stiles called to me after we had searched for a while, "Come look at this." I make my way over to him and I find him looking at a small cave in some rocks. I bend down and glance inside to see what looked like an animal's den but a little different. It had some items in there that I didn't recognized but Stiles did.

"You see this?" Stiles says grabbing a jacket that was in there, "This is Malia's. Remember? It's the same one she was wearing."

I sigh, "Either that confirms Malia's death or Malia is somehow responsible for her family's death."

"You saying she might have been the werewolf?" Stiles asked as he set the jacket back down.

"Yeah, possibly. If you were born a wolf or a shifter in general, you have your first shift sometime between your seventh birthday and turning twelve. If you don't shift in that time, then you most likely don't have an animal inside you." I say.

"I think we need to find, Scott." Stiles says pushing himself out of the cave. I agreed so together we began to run through the forest in search of Scott. We find Scott but we scare each other because we find him after we had just ran around the corner.

"We found something." I tell Scott.

"So did I!" Scott replies.

I raise my eyebrow in surprise, "What did you find?"

"Malia is stuck as coyote. She was the coyote that I chased." Scott says as Stiles begins to lead us back to the coyote den.

"You sure?" I ask him.

"Pretty sure." Scott says, "The coyote's eyes were definitely a human's."

"It would explain what happened that night," Stiles says, "Malia shifts for the first time causing the accident. Distraught she runs into the forest where she has been for the last eight years." By this time, we arrived at the coyote den and we lead Scott inside. Stiles shows Scott the same piece of clothing that he did to me but Scott seemed uneasy inside the den.

"We shouldn't be here." Scott says looking around the den uneasy.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"She's not going to come back now." Scott says, "We just invaded her home. Our scent's going to be everywhere."

"If she's not going to come back here, where's she going to go?" Stiles asks.

"I don't know." Scott admits.

"Wherever she feels safe." I add

Stiles nod before turning "Can you track her now? You think you got her scent."

Scott shrugs, 'Maybe...but I'm better at this when I'm a full wolf. And I'm still worried that if I do it, I won't be able to turn back."

"The door's still open." I sigh, "Maybe you need to shift so you can overcome the fear?"

"We can't risk it right now." Scott says, "Malia needs our help and you haven't heard from Derek right?" I shake my head because I hadn't but I had a bad feeling in my gut even though I was trying to just let him be. "If I can't get to Derek, we're gonna have to find someone else to help. Can you track?"

"I mean I can if I have to." I say, "But Malia is a coyote. I'm not. It's going to be hard for me to be able track her like you or Derek might."

Scott nods but then his face lights up, "This is basically a crime scene, right? I think it might be a little out of my boss's league..."
