I was happy that we solved Allison's, Scott's, and Stiles's problems and helped bring Malia back to her father but I was still worried about Derek. He still hasn't said one word to me through text or any other mode of conversing which worried me. We were approaching almost a month since Derek left and that was way more time than it should have taken to settle Cora down in South America so it was right for me to worry. I didn't know who to talk to except for Deaton. He would be able to calm my nerves or tell me a course of action.
When I went to Deaton's office, I felt the weird feeling of being followed. I jerk around at one point but I don't see anything so I keep walking into the office. Deacon was with a patient so I just sat down in the waiting room to wait till he was done.
Once he had sent the little dog off with his owner, he comes out to let her out before locking the door. He turns to me and beckons for me to follow.
"What's on your mind, Atlantia?" He asks me as I follow him to the back of his office.
"I'm worried about, Derek." I say, "I haven't heard from him since Jennifer's death. I have a bad feeling and I think something might have happened."
"Have you had a chance to check the future?" Deaton asks me leaning on his exam table.
I shake my head, "I can see the future but any paths that specifically revolve around Derek are locked in some way. The last time this happened, I lost my family to Gaea and Tartarus."
Deaton frowns, "Are you able to see the past with Derek or is everything, past, present, and future all locked?"
"Everything is locked." I say, "If I didn't know Derek personally, I wouldn't know he existed."
"This is concerning." Deaton says, "I was beginning to worry myself when he hadn't returned and wasn't returning Scott's texts but now with your locked visions, it makes my suspicions all the more likely."
"What should we do?" I ask him, "Derek has a lot of enemies and I know he is strong and can fend for himself, but he is not invincible."
"Give me some time. I'll see what I can find out." Deaton says, "I have some old contacts that I can reach out to. I'll see if they have heard anything. For now, go be the teen Derek would want you to be." That was not an easy thing to do when I went to school the next morning even with it being Mischief Night/Day so the students at Beacon Hill High School were pulling pranks throughout the school or with the twins looking to join Scott's pack. Isaac, Boyd, and Erica were very distrusting of them which was understandable after what happened to them so Scott told them if they didn't accept them, he wouldn't.
I agreed with him but I hadn't really been listening to their conversation since I was still lost in thought about Derek but I was sort of jerked out of it when I heard Coach yelling from his office.
"SON OF A BITCH!" I could hear him shouting. There were chuckles from everyone as he comes storming into the room, slamming his office's door.
"Mischief night! Devil's Night! I don't care what you call it." Coach grumbled angrily at us as he paced the front of the room, "You little punks are evil." There's more laughter at that which makes Coach even madder. "You think it's funny every Halloween my house gets egged?" He slams his hand on Scott's table, "A man's house is supposed to be his castle! Mine's a frickin' omelette!"
It was then he spotted the blue package on his desk, "Oh this? We're gonna do this again? I don't think so!" He grabs the present and slams it on the ground before proceeding to stomp on it. There is an audible crunch like glass was breaking so Coach immediately bends down to see a smashed mug with a picture of him on it. Underneath the picture was the words "Number 1 Coach".
