Sherry POV

It was the end of the semester already and winter break was right around the corner. All she had to do was get through finals and she was one semester closer to finishing college. With everything going on, she was ready to go.

She was not over Donte, but it was becoming easier and easier to let him go. She got rid of his things at her place, and instead of calling him to come to get them, she gathered his clothing, all his little gifts, and trinkets he bought her and gave to charity. Everything about him she wanted to erase. Any pictures on her phone, all the texts, all the memories.

After a while, she stopped crying over him altogether.

It still hurt.

Now it was time to move on. Unfortunately, some of her friends did not have her back.

"Girl, just because he had a chick on the side doesn't mean he doesn't love you!" This was from her closest friend Kaori while they ate lunch at the Student Union.

What in the world was she talking about? It meant exactly that. Not only did he not love her, but he also did not respect her.

"And he apologized, you should take him back. Not many guys like Donte around," Rosaline added in.

"Are you crazy? Take him back? He cheated on me!"

"Yeah but, I thought you knew he was getting it in with other girls," Rosaline said.

"What? What other girls? It was just one...wait a minute! Did you know? Did the both of you know?"

She looked at her friends of years, back before the Greek letters, back before college, back to high school, and innocent and wild days. How could they know and not tell her immediately?

"Girl, all those frat boys cheat, and? You're part of the Greek world, I thought you knew," Kaori said, sipping her drink.

She stood from the table abruptly. "Are you two out of your god damned minds!"

"Sherry, calm down girl, we're not the ones that got played. It wasn't my business to tell," Rosaline said.

She could not believe what she was hearing. She grabbed her bag and stormed away from her so-called friends. With friends like that, she could live without them. They were supposed to be her rock. They were there through everything in her life, the ups, and downs, and when they all got accepted to ISU together, she knew they would be friends forever.

Forever ended today.

She left the Student Union and headed anywhere but there. She had another class in an hour, so she was not going to stop at home. She headed for the library.

Sitting at a table all alone by the entrance was Taj. She saw him and rolled her eyes, trying to hurry inside before he noticed her. No chance in that, he saw her and rushed over to her.

"Sher."

"Don't call me that."

"Sherry, I'm sorry for being the bearer of bad news." Taj stood blocking her from going inside the library. "I wouldn't be a friend if I didn't tell you what was going on."

He had a point in that, considering her best friends knew and never said a word. If Taj did not tell her, how long would Donte have kept up the charade? She should not be mad at Taj.

"Okay, Taj, whatever, you want a thank you for telling me? How long did you even know before you told me."

"I have some frat stay in his building, he saw them together and told me. Of course, I didn't want to believe it. Why would a guy mess around on a girl like you? I just...I felt like, if I would have said something, you would just think I'm trying to get at you."
