Zavrina POV
Tonight was the Alpha party and she knew it was going to be a big event. She showered, put some smell good on, fluffed out the curly fro, hit her face with some make-up, wing-tip eyes, a lil eye shimmer, blush, and gloss, she was good to go. Dressed in her sorority colors of a bright orange half-shirt with MAX on it and low-rise khaki fitted cargo pants. She wore tan-colored flat sandals. No need to wear hills, she was short, even with a couple more inches, she was short.
Jill texted that Sherry was pulling up downstairs. She was the only one of them that did not have a car. Sometimes she wished she did, other times, she was just glad she had friends with cars.
"Why she so ca-yute!" Jill announced when Zavrina got in the back of Sherry's black Honda Accord. Jill had on an orange bodysuit that fit her so well. Her hair was in her signature bob.
"Shut up youngin!"
"Ooo, girl, when we get the next line, I won't be the youngest anymore and you can stop calling me that," Jill stated.
"No I won't," she said with a smile.
"Probably won't be anyone younger than you," Sherry laughed. Sherry wore khaki shorts and a wrap-around orange shirt exposing all her extra-large breasts Zavrina was jealous of. Her hair was sleeked back into a long ponytail.
The party was off-campus but not far, so if students didn't have a car they could walk. Most caught rides because it was not cool to be seen walking. The Alphas were the largest of all the Black Greek organizations on campus, and they had been at ISU the longest, so their parties were always legendary. The parking lot was packed and hard to find a parking space.
"Sorors, we about to get turnt!" Jill shouted out.
Zavrina rolled her eyes. "I need her to calm down."
There was a long line to get in, but Zavrina was not down with standing in long lines. She was royalty up in there. She and the MAXs skipped the line and walked to the front. There were three Alphas at the door, and she was cool with all of them. Cory, the President, smiled when he saw her.
"Aye! That's my girl, come on y'all," he said, waving them in.
"Hey Cory," she hugged him.
"I'll let you in free if you promise me a dance," Cory said to her.
That negro, always trying to flirt with her. They crossed at the same time and had been cool from day one, but she never was interested in him because she was all about his prophyte Kenyon.
"Yeah, she'll save you a dance," Jill jumped in to say. "Good looking out Cory!"
They walked on in. The music was loud and the place was packed. She felt a heatwave radiating from all the packed bodies. The first party of the year, thrown by the ice-cold men of A Phi A, schools from all around came to party with them.
"Okay, let me find Donte," Sherry looked around to see off she could find her boyfriend.
"Can you let that man kick it with his frat?" Zavrina replied.
"I just want to let him know I'm here," Sherry said, walking off.
Zavrina only shook her head. She and Jill walked around the party a bit. Jill dancing around like she didn't have any sense, but Zavrina was just looking.
"Oh, my gah!" Jill grabbed Zavrina's arm.
"Girl, if you don't-"
"Look, it's that guy from SIU-E who I crushed on last year."
Zavrina looked toward who she was talking about. She knew the guy. He was in the fraternity Epsilon Upsilon, another small, new fraternity like them. They were not part of the Divine Nine. Some called them their brother fraternity, but they had not officially linked up with them through their headquarters.
