Zavrina POV

"Babe, thanks for staying over and helping me study," she ran her fingers through Kenyon's messy curls as he slept.

Kenyon was a sweetheart, staying in her room last night in her little twin bed when he could have been comfortable at his place in his queen-sized bed. Plus, she had to wake up early and he hated that. She was on duty and in between all her rounds, she studied for her finals.

"Z, I need more sleep," he swatted her hand away and she laughed at him.

"I have to get ready for the day, you're just going to lay here?"

"Yes."

She rolled her eyes at him and got out of bed, gathered her things for a shower, and headed into her bathroom. There were two more weeks of school left. She was excited and a bit nervous. Her mother and her grandmother were coming down. If she knew where to locate her father, she would invite him too.

Kenyon would meet her mother and Nana. She knew he would charm them the same way he had Jossie loving him. Now all she had to do was decide on a law school.

If she moved back to St. Louis and went to SLU as she wanted, what would happen with her and Kenyon? See each other sometimes? She would need to buy a car so he would not be the only one making the five-hour drive.

Depending on how much financial aid she would get, she probably would have to move back home. Anything to save money.

When she got out of the shower, towel wrapped around her, Kenyon was sitting up in the bed.

"You could have waited for me, I would have taken a shower with you."

"You wanted to sleep."

"How the hell do you wake up this early? I don't even have a class till one o'clock today. Bruh, it's nobody awake at this time."

She checked her phone, it was only seven-fifteen and she had an eight o'clock class.

"I'm sorry I kept you up late last night." They did not even do anything but study for her finals, which were still six days away.

"It's all good. You gonna help me study for all my tests?"

"Of course I will."

He pulled her in his arms and held her, not saying anything, just looking at her. Whenever he did that it made her uncomfortable.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Stop looking at me like that then!"

"I can't look at my girl?"

"You want to stay in my room and sleep some more? I can come back after my class and-"

"No, I can run back to my place and catch some Zs." He kissed her forehead. "You coming to my place tonight? You won't be on duty, right?"

"Okay, that's a plan."

He dressed and walked out with her, and then she headed to her class. She had two classes back-to-back, then she had office hours for Student Government. She would miss doing all she had done in the last year in that position.

Of course, she was going for bigger and better things in law school.

"Hey, niecey."

She looked up from her computer and saw her aunt Jossie at the door.

"Hey, Auntie."

"So, when were you going to tell me or your mom what you are doing after graduation?"

"Ummm..." She had not fully committed to any law school yet, but she knew she needed to be packing her things and deciding if she was moving home, staying with her aunt over summer break, or coming up with a third solution.
