"SHILOH! YOU'RE not watching the movie!""I told you I can see it in the mirror."
"You can't see without your glasses."
Shiloh pulled herself out of her slump and decided that she would just go to the Homecoming dance.
She was already running late as it is and had already seen the picture of EJ and Gina at the dance. She knew it was weird because EJ had just vented to her about how much Nini meant to him.
Regardless, Shiloh had been struggling to unscrew the top of the lipgloss off and was becoming frustrated with Aaliyah and the movie playing on her TV, not to mention that Enya was sitting in her lap, endlessly tapping away on Shiloh's phone.
"Shiloh!"
She finally stood from her chair, slightly tripping as she couldn't see very well, and placed Enya beside Aaliyah, letting the baby's hand fall onto Aaliyah's lap to reassure her that someone was there.
"I can see the movie from the mirror. It may be a little blurry but I can see it."
Aaliyah finally sat back with her head resting against Shiloh's headboard knowing that she was annoying the oldest sibling in the room.
Shiloh sat back down in her seat and carefully put her contacts in. She hated them. She had been wearing glasses for as long as she remembered and she never really went without unless her dads instructed her to, but tonight was different. She was wearing them on her own accord and if she wanted them out she would gladly remove them.
She took one final glance at herself in the mirror, proud of the makeup job that she did in ten minutes (praying that no one asked for a photo because she didn't know if she would flashback or not) and the dress she had picked out months ago.
"Okay, you'll be fine. You're doing this for you and no one else. If you're ready to go... you'll leave." She muttered to herself.
She quickly hopped up from her chair, "Dad knows when this movie ends, he'll be taking you both to bed afterward."
They had both been too engrossed in the movie to focus on Shiloh, which she saw no problem with. It was an easier escape.
She rushed downstairs hoping to bypass both her parents and into the car so her brother can drop her off.
She was almost successful, both her and her brother on their way to shut the door, but Jonathan (her older brother who was attending college online) felt the door come to a stop.
"Pictures."
"I'm already running late. Can't this wait until tomorrow?"
Joseph and David Montgomery had adopted eight children in total. Four boys and four girls. People thought they were insane, but they liked being parents and they liked having their children around. The youngest being two and the oldest being freshly nineteen.
