Barson Bingo Prompt: Rainy Day
Song: "Two" by Sleeping at LastOlivia Benson shook off her umbrella and placed it in the holder and hung up her coat up. She was picking up Rafael so they could go home for the night. She knocked on the doorframe as her loving boyfriend looked up from his work. He was soaked from the rain but was trying to finish up his work.
"Rafa, you're shivering, we should head home, get warm and dry and have some dinner." Olivia said.
"I forgot my coat when I went to court today and the umbrella wasn't much help. I should have gotten a cab but traffic was backed up." Rafael replied. "Just ten more minutes. I need to finish my notes court tomorrow."
"Five. Trust your instincts on this one. You got this love." She replied. "Besides I know you hate the feeling of wet socks and when your shoes squeak when they're wet. I also know you don't don't wanna get sick either."
"You're right cariño. It can wait. Let me get my briefcase and we can go." Rafael said as he closed his laptop and legal notepad and picked up his briefcase. He gave Olivia a kiss on the cheek before heading to Olivia's car.
The rain was getting heavier and the sound of thunder was getting louder and closer and Olivia was driving. New York traffic was already was a bother on any day during rush hour and rain was even slower.
"I was gonna order us something to eat but we won't be eating until nine the way the traffic is." Olivia said. "Lucy's bringing Noah home when the storm slacks up but that doesn't look like any time soon
"How about we cook something then?" Rafael said. "I was thinking of making my Abulita's soup. It perfect for a rainy day."
"I like that idea and I love you." She said with a smile.
"I love you too Liv." Rafael said as he smiled back at her. She was absolutely mesmerizing to him.
By the time the couple looked for a parking spot and ran up the stairs to Olivia's apartment, they were both soaked. They slipped off their shoes and socks by the door and went to Olivia's room to change. Rafael had gone to the bathroom and when he returned, he noticed his girlfriend was wearing one of his Harvard sweatshirts: his favorite one that was warm and soft and gently smelled of Olivia's perfume slightly. She also had on some sweatpants and the fuzzy socks she had received from him for a gag Christmas gift. He had secretly bought himself the same fuzzy socks once he and Olivia had started dating so they could match.
"Hey that's mine." He teased.
"I know. It's so warm and fuzzy and I put it on when I miss you." She said.
"Can I have it back? I wanted to wear it." Rafael teased again.
"Hmmmm no. I like it." She teased back.
"You're cute, I hope you know that. Buuuuuuuuut that does mean I won't tickle you." Rafael said as pounced on top of Olivia and tickled her at all the places she was most ticklish.
"Stop! Stop I give in! You can have it back." She said while trying to to laugh.
"You're cuter than I am in it. I'll just pick another one." Rafael said as he nuzzled his nose into her neck to kiss her there.
Olivia couldn't have asked for a better man in her life. Her best friend was now her loving boyfriend and she couldn't be happier. There was something about the joy of coming home with him every day and waking up next to him that made his heart skip a beat. Rafael also shared the same joy having the love of his life next to him. Six years of waiting for her was too long and now she was his. One day, they'd get married but for now, they were happy.
