We were both so incredibly blown away by the 500th episode and had a lot of emotions and questions we needed to process so we decided to write this fic. Olivia needed some support after this.

Fair warning, this is a long one-shot but we both agreed that it would take away from the moment if we broke it into multiple parts
Rafael Barba was knocking on Olivia Benson's apartment. Her call seemed frantic and urgent and he felt he needed to be there for his best friend. He brought Olivia's favorite snacks and was concerned about what she wanted to talk about at such a late hour. He knocked on her door and took a deep breath. Olivia soon opened the door.
"Hi." He said with a small smile.
Olivia looked like she had been crying as she wiped her tears before speaking.
"Hi, Rafa. Thanks for coming. Noah's in bed so come in and take a seat." Olivia said as she let Rafael in and the two sat on the sofa together.
"I brought your favorite snacks. If you wanna talk about whatever you want to talk about or want me to just sit here with you, I can do that. I'll be right here for you as long as you need me. We're best friends after all."
Olivia gave a small laugh. She knew her dear best friend was a constant snacker and sharing snacks and a bottle of wine with Rafael made for a nice evening between friends.
"Thank you for coming over. I'm sorry for calling so late and asking you to come over, it's just you're the only one I could confide in," she said.
Rafael gently touched her shoulder and then pulled his hand away when he realized how jumpy Olivia was. "I'm right here ready to listen. Just talk to me and tell me what's on your mind."
Olivia looked right into Rafael's sincere, green eyes. He meant every word he said when said he was ready to listen.
"It was nice to have Nick back to help us with Hailey West and Ian Ridley's case. We set an innocent man free and closed a cold case. Burton was also helping with the case. He's gotten famous now with his books and crime drama podcast. He's also an old flame of mine. We kissed and I slept with him in his hotel room."
Rafael's face never wavers but inside he's surprised that Olivia told him this. It's not that he doesn't know that about his friend's romantic relationships, but something about this is different. This is outright, and she is baring his soul to him. Rafael gives Olivia a comforting nod ensuring her she can continue. She takes a deep breath as this is where it gets difficult.
"After court the next day, a woman approached Burton and I saying that he was a sexual predator. Other women came forward online but there was nothing we could do because there were no rape kits done and the statute of limitation had passed. I confronted him about it at his hotel room. He had been drinking and..."
