For the Barson bingo prompt: kidnapped
Bear with me here. I was talking on Twitter with some people (it's @simpforbarba I make memes and talk about Barson) and someone mentioned they wanted a fic where Rafael is the one kidnapped. This one also fits into the Random Acts universe but it's for the benefit of the story. Y'all bear with me. Im including Blythe in this one too. She's seven months old at the time. This one is gonna be pretty dark. Mentions of PTSD. This might also be two parts or super long.
Rafael Barba checked his phone as he was packing up for the day. He smiled at the picture on his desk of his wife Olivia and two children: Noah and Blythe.
Hey I gotta work late tonight. Can you pick up Blythe from daycare? Lucy will bring Noah home. Love you handsome!
He blushed at bit at his wife calling him handsome. He actually enjoyed picking up his daughter from daycare. He finally stopped getting those weird looks from judgmental mothers when he had the baby in the car seat in his arms and the baby bag on his shoulders as he busily walked in his full suit and tie. He was excited about Blythe babbling and being close to saying "Papí". He and Olivia were secretly betting who she's call for first.
Rafael looked at his to-do list on his phone before pulling out of his parking spot. He made a mental note to clean his car one day soon since his children had some of their toys ,Blythe's headbands and socks she had pulled off and various kinds of snacks in the backseat. The next pop up on his to-do list is pick up his prescription from the pharmacy. He wasn't taking as many as before over a year ago but there were some he needed to operate like a normal human being every day.
He made the call to the pharmacy to make sure it was ready. Of course it wasn't and he needed to wait another hour or so. At least were things to look at in the local Walgreens. Rafael picked up a pack of diapers just because there was always a need for diapers in the Benson-Barba household. He got some formula, some more onesies, a new bow for Blythe and some of those baby proofing locks. He always put the effort in to find something for Noah as well so he picked a coloring book and crayons for his son.
Rafael was actually trying to put aside in his mind that the judge ROR'ed a man who raped and murdered five men and women simply because there wasn't sufficient evidence to prove he Charles Brooks was guilty. He was going to work on building his case tonight after Blythe went to bed. Family came first. After looking at almost recommended teething toy for his daughter, he picked one and picked up his medicine. New York parking was bad all of the time but rush hour parking was even worse. Why did Rafael think parking in the back of the parking lot a good idea. Ever since the incident a year ago in his apartment, Rafael was extremely careful about driving in general, especially at night and making sure he locked his car and wasn't being followed. He actually very rarely drove alone at night. Having a wife who was a cop and definitely could beat him in arm wrestling has its benefits.
The pharmacy being late was going to make Rafael late for picking up his daughter. He was muttering to himself about how he'd been going to the same pharmacy once a month for over a year and them not being ready didn't make sense. He had trained himself to not to stop and open his trunk of his silver BMW crossover but instead get in, immediately lock the door and put his things on the passenger seat. In his hurry he had simply forgotten and has he closed the trunk, he was face to face with a loaded gun.
"I'm stupid, I'm so stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid." Rafael was thinking as he was standing there frozen. Charles Brooks was standing right in front of them. Any idea Rafael had in his mind would get him immediately shot.
"Get in Mr. Barba, back seat on the floor." Brooks said.
"Listen we don't have to do this." Rafael said trying to avoid going into a full blown panic attack. Him vomiting on everywhere would definitely piss this guy off and dirty his car.
Here he was, handcuffed on the floor of his car as a rapist and murderer was driving it. Rafael was thinking about we're there any security cameras around and how long it would take for him to be reported missing. He had two hours before the daycare closed however Noah was supposed to be at home in an hour. That wasn't too long of a wait.
