Summary: As the night ends Jet shares her story with Olivia and Rafael, and the couple later has a heart to heart. The next day brings up new thoughts and feelings for the pair as well.
About ten minutes later when everyone had a chance to calm down and regain some much needed clarity everyone sat down for dinner. Carisi pours a bowl of soup for the adults and some spaghetti with his special sauce for the kids. When he goes to serve Jet he can see the young woman still has some uneasiness around her so he pours her some soup and gives a comforting smile which she returns.
"It smells delicious, Mr. Carisi."
"You can call me Sonny or Dominick while we're here Jet."
"Okay Sonny."
"And if you ever need to talk about what happened tonight you can call one of us okay?" Amanda says.
"Thank you Amanda. I realized a lot tonight and I will take you up on that offer but for now I just want to enjoy the good company."
Amanda gives the young woman a smile. Olivia sits down at the table.
"Kids, time for dinner!"
The three kids immediately run out of Noah's room and make a beeline for the table. They stop when they see an empty chair.
"Where's Uncle Rafa?" Jesse asked.
"Did he not want to eat with us?" Billie said softly.
"Of course he did honey, but right now he's resting." Amanda said, pulling her younger daughter into a hug.
"But it's not a family dinner without the whole family," Noah said sadly.
"I know Noah. I know you were excited about this. But maybe when he's done resting he can join us." Olivia said.
"Okay."
"Is he tired because he was talking to the other man?" Jesse said.
Amanda shook her head. Her daughter never missed a trick.
"Yeah, honey, he was. But just know your Uncle Rafa was being brave and strong in doing so. He was helping his family." Amanda said
"Uncle Rafa's a hero!" Billie exclaims
"He sure is" Olivia said sincerely
"I hope he can join us soon." Noah said.
"I do too sweet boy. I'll go check on him." Olivia said as she got up from the table to check on Rafael.
When she peeked into her room, Rafael was sound asleep in bed. For the first time in days, his slumber was peaceful. His mind seemed to be at rest as he slept instead of his tossing and turning. Olivia was trying to decide if she should wake him to eat or let him rest. He answered the question for her when his green eyes met her brown ones.
"You were resting so well, I didn't want to disturb you but dinner is ready." Olivia said. "Would you like for me to bring it to you or would you like to join us at the table?"
"I'll join you all at the table. We have such a supportive group of friends. Also I love you. Being your partner is the best thing to ever happen to me. We'll talk later, I promise." Rafael said with a smile as Olivia helped him out of bed and to his chair in the kitchen.
"I love you too Rafael. Being your partner is one of the best things to ever happen to me too. Now come on, your family is excited to have dinner with you."
