Olivia Benson-Barba got picked up her purse and keys and got in her car. Luckily Blythe's actually car seat was at daycare with her. Olivia was thinking about what connections she could make about the day. Rafael was given Hannah's case a few days ago and he had been busy working all for the judge to release Charles Brooks on ROR. Maybe that was the connection but to didn't make sense. She thought on it more as she quickly ran inside Blythe's daycare and apologized for and Rafael's lateness and coaxed her way out of the late fee. Rafael was always on time when it came to picking up the kids from school because he missed them too. It was of the joys of Olivia's day to relax and play with her husband and children after work.
Olivia buckled Blythe into her car seat and called Fin. Of course her very talkative, but very cute daughter was babbling to her mother and playing with her socks as Olivia was trying to think.
"Hey Fin, what Can you find out about Charles Brooks? It sounds crazy I know." She said.
"Ummm I have something for you when you come back. Amanda and Carisi are on it." One of her oldest friends replied.
"I'll be back in thirty minutes max. Sorry if you hear Blythe. She's got that from her father." Olivia said.
Blythe's babbling was slightly comforting to Olivia. The next step I'm the plan was to call her mother in law about watching the kids for the night. Maybe she was going to hold on on that until she found out more about Rafael's situation. Olivia was thinking that she'd restocked Rafael's backpack the other day so he has everything he needed for a least a few days. That was a relief but it's not like a kidnapper would care that her husband hand medical needs that had to be taken care of. She did know Rafael was smart and would try to escape.
Before she even realized in, Olivia was walking into the SVU headquarters with her daughter in her arms. The little baby with brown wavy hair, green eyes, Rafael's nose and Olivia's smile was immediately gravitating to her Uncle Sonny. Blythe gave him a two tooth grin as she was sitting on his lap.
"Sorry guys I'm an overwhelmed wife looking for her husband. Right now I'm an lieutenant on a case. How's everything going?"
"Okay here's what we got." Amanda said as she was putting the evidence on the cork board. "Barba did go to the Walgreens at four fifteen like you said. We got the security footage from the 1 Hogan Place parking garage."
"I know for sure Rafael went to Walgreens because I got a pick up notification at five thirty. You and Fin head over there to get their security footage." Olivia replied as she handed Carisi a burp cloth for Blythe. "Has TARU tracked Rafa's phone?"
"They're working on that. We're also have a squad looking for Charles Brooks. The judge should've let him go." Fin said. "He was last seen at his apartment shortly after court."
"Damn it! I keep thinking about today. Where did everything go wrong. Rafael and I talked this morning. I brought him his favorite coffee an he was excited about Blythe trying to crawl. I gave him a kiss and realized I forgot to leave Blythe her blankie so I quickly took it to her and came back. I was just in time for Rafael to make his opening arguments for arraignment. He told me after that he was incredibly busy the rest of the day but we'd meet at home. I just hope he's alright." Olivia said.
Amanda and Fin made their way to the pharmacy and trying to keep Olivia calm back at the station. Barba was not only one of their own but their Lieutenant's husband for almost a year.
Excuse me, we're NYPD detectives and we were working if you'd seen this man. "Amanda said a she pulled up a picture on his phone."His name is Rafael Barba and his wife said he's a regular here."
"Um yeah. His prescription was late so he shopped around for some baby items. He left like three hours ago." The cashier said.
"Have you seen anything suspicious within the past six hours or so?" Fin replied.
