Based on another SVU promo for season 23. In the random acts universe because I can and I like spiting Elliot with the Barson baby: Blythe. That's fun stuff right there. I'm loving this. I'm not sure if this is gonna be published by Thursday or not. I need more context. Whatever. Thanks for all the help KLK2022 for being my bestie and supporting my work. She really did help a lot with it. It kinda picks up right after "Put A World That Seems Broken Together Again"
"Is she asleep yet?" Olivia asked as a sleepy Rafael Barba was yawning and rubbing his eyes.
"I hope so. Our little princess isnt feeling well with have to get steroid shots for her ear infection." Her husband replied as he kissed Olivia's cheek and put his hands on her shoulders. "It's late so I'm going to go to bed. Care to join me?"
"I will in a little bit Rafa. I've gotta look over these cases so I can talk with Sergeant Bell in the morning. This case isn't an open and shut one. I could use some coffee."
"I'll make you some tea. You were the one who suggested we'd cut caffeine." Rafael replied.
"Rafael it's been a week. I surprisingly feel really good. I'm gonna get some work done now and meet you in bed." Olivia said as she started working again.
Olivia would occasionally would look up and see her husband going up and down the stairs getting things for Blythe. He was tired but didn't mind watching and taking care of their daughter. She'd definitely make it up to Rafael later.
"Rafael, I'll take care of her, get some sleep. You've got a case in the morning too." Olivia said.
"I've got her. Blythe's almost back to sleep but wakes up and wants to be held. You're busy too and I know how you feel about us letting the kids in our bed so I've been trying to sleep in her rocking chair." Rafael said.
"No really I got her. Get some sleep because you're not relying on coffee." Olivia said as she went upstairs with her husband. She picked up Blythe and held her close as Rafael went to bed. Blythe Lucille was an incredible little toddler with bright green eyes behind those purple rubber toddler glasses , her mother's smile and a giggle that would make you smile. She rarely had a sick day despite having chronic asthma. She was a tiny sassy toddler with a brilliant mind. Rafael always thought Blythe Benson-Barba would make an excellent lawyer.
Olivia was holding her daughter as the toddler finally fell asleep. Olivia was trying to remember how she took care of Noah on her own when he was sick. Then again she was balancing Rafael's medical need and a five year old a three year ago so this wasn't impossible to her. Blythe was snuggling close in her mothers arms. Her parents were working on weaning Blythe off of needing a pacifier but they'd let it slide until she was feeling better. Olivia put Blythe back in her crib, then peeked in Noah's door to see he was sleeping soundly with a book about large, elaborate Lego sets on his chest. His mother quietly put the book back on his shelf and closed the door again. Olivia peeked into her and Rafael's bedroom to see his was asleep facing the door. The little light from the hallway was shining a little on Rafael's face. His wife though the way he scrunched his nose in his sleep when he was having good dreams was adorable. She wasn't going to wake him since he had been caring for Blythe all afternoon so Olivia headed back downstairs to work.
Olivia was sitting on her sofa with her files and her cup of tea on the coffee table. As much as she was trying to distract her with work, she couldn't. Elliot Stabler had crossed her path again after three months. His first encounter with the man he didn't know was Olivia's husband was disaster a few weeks ago. The car accident she broke her ankle in caused an unpleasant surprise for Elliot to see Olivia's husband and one of her children with him. Why was that man so obsessed with her anyway? She made it clear (and so did Rafael) Olivia was married. Elliot didn't fit into the world she had built with Rafael, Noah and Blythe.
