There are two songs in this chapter:
Jet's song is "She's So Gone" from the Disney Channel movie Lemonade Mouth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnAc-rgvJTA
Olivia's song is "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me from The Cher Show" sung by Stephanie J Block, Teal Wicks, and Micaela Diamond https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dcQERpi7P8
Olivia testifies and the line are clearly drawn in the sand as Jet takes her power back and a surprising development occurs.
As everyone files back into the courtroom, the prosecution and the defense finish preparing their notes to continue with the trial. Olivia is talking with Denise when Maureen and Elizabeth walk in. Ayanna is the first one to notice.
"Captain Benson?"
Olivia turns around.
"Yeah? Oh, hi girls. Is everything alright?"
"We're here to support you if you'll let us." Maureen says.
"Thank you. I really mean that. If you need me, I'm going to be there for you and your siblings. You don't have to carry the burden of your father's choices."
"Thank you, Olivia."
Elizabeth waves shyly at the group.
"Hi. I'm Elizabeth and this is my older sister Maureen." She says as she points to her sister.
The squad all smile at the two sisters.
"It's nice to officially meet you girls." Ayanna said.
"You're Sergeant Bell right?" Maureen says.
"Yes."
"It's nice to meet you too. We've heard good things about you."
The sisters smile at that but something is still holding them back. How were the people who their dad hurt accepting them so easily?
"We're in your corner too.girls. You are not your father. We're here if you need us." Ayanna said.
Sonny stands up from his spot next to Ayanna.
"You're welcome to sit here if you want."
"Thank you, Counselor." Maureen says with a smile as they sit next to Ayanna.
Sonny goes to sit next to Amanda and they both give Olivia a supportive smile. She looks at the group formed to support her and feels incredibly grateful. She knew she could do this.
Meanwhile, out of the corner of her eye, Rita sees Maureen and Elizabeth sit on Olivia's side of the gallery. She's surprised but after whatever happened earlier today, not shocked. There's only one thing she's thinking at the moment.
"Please for the love of god, Elliot do not turn around."
She sat there going over her notes, trying not to draw attention to the scenario behind her. Elliot's daughters had every right to not be on his side and Rita respected them for that. She was getting closer to her breaking point with him too but she had a job to do.
Instead, John Buchanan turns around and draws Elliot's attention to his daughters.
"Why must he rile him up? Why?!" she thinks.
"What are you looking at?" Elliot says.
"Looks like you've got more enemies than friends." He said.
"John." Rita bites out.
Elliot turns around and his eyes go wide when he sees his daughters sitting on the prosecution side. He is hurt and angry.
