The long drive in the ambulance was a long one and the begrudgingly long drive back to her home was a long one for Olivia Benson-Barba. Her team insisted she needed to get some sleep because her husband would need her. She hadn't seen Rafael that sick in a really long time. He was currently stable but was currently sedated and having his stomach pumped. The doctors said he was stable by needed time to see if the drugs had any long term effects on his brain and organs.
Fin, Amanda and Sonny were right: Olivia was tired. Lucille Barba has spend the night in the guest room and Olivia's children were sleeping in their respective bedrooms. Noah as sleeping soundly but Blythe was wide awake, sitting up in her sleep sack and sucking on her pacifier.
"I guess you miss your Papí too Bee." Olivia said as she picked up her daughter and kissed her cheek. "He's gonna be okay. I know you miss your Papí singing your lullaby and cuddles after your bath. Your father is the bravest man I know and he's pulling through for our family."
Olivia sat down in the cozy gray rocking chair with her baby in her arms. Blythe Lucille's green eyes were looking at her mom. This little girl was ball of sunshine and always had a smile. She was growing more curious by the day. She liked to pull out anything in sight, use the sofa as a stander or use her baby walker to finds her father's office and babble loudly at Rafael until she had his full attention. With two teeth growing in and two more not far behind, she loved cuddling with her parents.
Olivia had eventually fallen asleep with Blythe on her chest. The morning sun was warm and inviting and so was her daughter's body. All she wanted for the day was sit here with her children but she had to get back to work. Of course she remembered Dodds told her take off and be with her family. Olivia hadn't realized the time either and realized Noah would be late for school.
She walked down the stairs and noticed Noah's backpack was gone off of the hook so he was already gone to school. It must have been Lucille who covered the Benson-Barba girls with a blanket and taken Noah to school. She probably had the greatest mother in law in the world.
"Well Blythe, let's eat some breakfast and go see your Papí." Olivia said as she made a bowl of cereal for herself a some apple-banana baby for the baby.
How the two got to the hospital in record time was astounding considering Blythe threw her bowl on the floor and made a mess on herself and the tile. The little girl was not sleeping in the car with her lovie in her arms. The silly little gray bear with a teal and lavender blanket body was her favorite toy as she hardly ever put it down.
Olivia was pushing the stroller as Blythe was taking in the sight and babbling to all the people she saw. The doctors and nurses admired how cute Blythe was with her pink onesie and denim skirt and suspenders with a pink bow to match.
"Hey there. You up for visitors?" Olivia said as she knocked and peeked into her husband's hospital room.
"Yeah sure. I missed you. I still hate hospitals." Rafael said softly as a joke.
"How are you feeling love? You gave me quite a scare." Olivia replied. "Blythe missed you a lot too."
"Can I hold her? I feel okay. I'm pretty groggy still and a little nauseous. I guess that's what almost overdosing does to you. Now if I could get this tube out of my nose I'd be okay."
