Barson Bingo Prompt: "I didn't know I was your lockscreen"
"Hey thanks for having dinner with me." Olivia said as she and Rafael took their normal seat at Fortelini's.
"I'd love to, you are my girlfriend after all." Rafael said as he took of his blazer and placed it on the bar chair and pulled out the chair for Olivia.
"The usually today guys?" The bartender Anthony said.
"Ummm yes. We'll decide on food in a bit." Olivia said.
"I see you two finally got together. You two come in here together enough anyway. Here's your drinks." Anthony said.
"Thank you." Rafael said as he took a sip of his scotch. "You look beautiful Liv. Well you always look beautiful. Now I look like a blabbering idiot and I haven't had a drink yet."
"You're pretty handsome yourself Couselor. How'd I get so lucky?" Olivia Olivia said as she also sipped her wine. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom before we order food."
"Okay cariño." Her boyfriend said with a smile.
Olivia had left her phone on the bar face up. Rafael had taken his own phone out of his pocket to said if Olivia asked, checking his emails. He was actually looking over the pictures from previous dates they had been on. His favorite one (it was his lockscreen) was the one they had taken as the mayor's gala. Rafael was kissing Olivia's cheek as she smiled. She was so beautiful in that pink dress that. After all those years later, Rafael could say Olivia was finally his and he was hers. They couldn't be happier together.
Olivia's phone lit up and Rafael tried to ignore it. The work friends must not have known Olivia was on a date because she kept getting notifications. Her phone was locked so he couldn't see the messages but he could see her lockscreen: the picture from the gala where she was kissing his cheek and Rafael had the biggest smile on his face.
Olivia meant the world to him and he loved being in love with her. Rafael was pretty shy and reserved when it came to their relationship. He was Olivia's best friend and had been with her through her past relationships as a friend and didn't ever want to hurt her. Hell, asking out his best friend was a big step already on his own. He couldn't dare break her heart.
"Hi there. What are you thinking about eating?" Olivia said as she sat next to him again.
"Ummm. I'm not sure. I wasn't thinking about it. I was checking emails." Rafael said. "I'm not going to be on my phone anymore. Especially when mi hermosa novia is as wonderful as you."
His beautiful girlfriend.Sometimes it didn't seem like a reality to Olivia that that was fact not fiction. He was everything she imagined and more. Olivia Benson loved Rafael Barba. Rafael green eyes meet her brown ones as her hand inches closer to his and she gripped it tightly but in a loving way. He was blushing a bit and smiled at her. Rafael kissed her hand and squeezed it gently.
"I love you." He said.
"I love you too Rafa."
The couple were acting as if they were giddy teenagers on their first date. They kept look at each other and blushing. This was happiness to them. This sweet moment of bliss and realizing this was what a good relationship was. They were all smiles and their food came.
"Okay okay, what's your favorite color?" Olivia said.
Rafael was taking a bit of his food and put his fork down to answer Olivia's question. "Uhhhh red. Maybe green? I've never really thought about it. How about you?"
"Lavender."
Rafael made a mental note of that and thought of the question he wanted to ask.
"What's your favorite childhood memory?" He said.
"I don't have many but I'd have to say my twelfth birthday. My mom actually remembered and wasn't passed out on the floor drunk. She took me took the mall and let me get a few things. She actually talked to me like a mom should." Olivia said. "How about you?"
"The summer my mom had me stay with Abuelita. My parents were having issues and for my own benefit, my mom let me say with her. I learned how to cook that summer and she took time to teach me more Spanish and Cuban heritage. It was a break from the chaos of my own home. She told me, one day I'd find the woman of my dream and I'd be lucky to find her. Abuelita was right about that." Rafael said. "I'll be right back. Do you wanna order dessert while I go to the bathroom?"
"Sure. How about the brownie cake and ice cream?" Olivia said.
"Sounds good to me."
Rafael had left his phone on the table and of course it was face up, buzzing with emails about their recent case. Olivia could also see his lockscreen was the picture from the mayor's ball. The pictures seemed to complete each other. Olivia was still smiling that she meant so much to Rafael and he meant so much to her.
After sharing dessert, the couple were deciding on what they wanted to do next.
"Well, dinner was amazing Olivia. Maybe this weekend I'll cook for you." Rafael said as he paid for dinner and and helped Olivia with her jacket and put his own on.
"Sounds like a deal." Olivia said. "Do you wanna come over? I know you're busy but I was thinking we could watch a movie or something?"
Olivia said shyly.
"Actually I'd love to." Rafael said. "One more thing."
"What's that?"
Rafael gave Olivia a passionate kiss and pulled her into a hug as they were standing by her car. "I love you more than you'd know Olivia Benson."
"I love you too Rafael Barba."
