A simple walk in the park turns into a confrontation. Olivia calls Ayanna to help them out and she realizes the truth behind her Detective's actions. Noah shows just how much he loves his Uncle.
After taking a nap, Rafael decided he wanted to do something else to get a bit of normalcy back. He hadn't been outdoors since Olivia brought him home from the hospital so he was thinking about asking her if she could take him on a walk with Noah. He was slowly gaining his strength back and wanted to try it. The farthest place he had been walking to was from Olivia's bed to the sofa in her living room.
"Can I ask you about something, Olivia?" He asked.
"Sure, Rafa. Go ahead." Olivia said as she was sitting on the edge of her bed.
"Dr. Addison suggested I do something that would give me some sense of normalcy so I was thinking we could go for a walk with Noah outside? It seems simple, but I want to try." He said.
"If you would like to do that, I support you. I'll help you get ready to go." Olivia said.
Noah was excited to join Olivia and Rafael on their walk. Olivia had a gentle hand on Rafael's arm for support as they walked out of the apartment and out into the street
"We can go as far as you're comfortable and if you get tired, we can go back home." She said,
"So far so good actually." Rafael said with a small smile.
Noah turns to the two
"Where are we going?"
"It's up to Uncle Rafa."
Rafael thinks for a moment. He wants to pick a place that's not too far away, but he also wants to enjoy this time with Olivia and Noah.
"How about we take a walk around the park?" He said.
"That would be fun. Mom and I love going to the park." Noah said.
"The park it is." Olivia says
The three walk to the park and Olivia and Rafael beam when they see Noah spin and jump around in the grass.
"He loves it here. It's freeing for him. He loves to practice his dance moves from time to time." Olivia said with a smile.
"He looks so happy" Rafael says softly
Seeing the young boy just enjoying life is so heartwarming to Rafael.
"Slow your pace a bit Noah so we can keep up." Olivia said.
"It's okay Liv. He's having fun."
Noah runs up to his Uncle excitedly
"Uncle Rafa, can we go look at the ducks in the pond?"
"Sure amigo"
Olivia helps Rafael walk over to the pond and the man feels a sense of peace wash over him. Suddenly Olivia's phone rings
"I'm sorry boys it's Fin. I need to take this quickly"
"Go ahead Liv we'll be okay."
Olivia walks away to take the phone call and Rafael shifts a bit to find a comfortable standing position, Noah calls out
"Look Uncle Rafa, there's some baby ducks!"
"I see amigo."
"Uncle Rafa, how do you say duck in Spanish?"
Rafael smiles at Noah's interest in learning a language that's important to him. It's in his blood.
"It's Pato Noah."
