Chapter 9

"Can we talk?"

I excused myself from them because Tita Isabel was too naive to not notice the awkward situation on the table between all of us.

Dumeretso ako sa comfort room to breath but to my dismay, Adrian was outside when I come out. He was wearing a white long sleeves folded up to his elbows. He looks the same as before except from the fact that he is not mine now.

"Wala tayong dapat pag-usapan pa," I scoffed and left him behind. But the man followed me. I can hear his footsteps as I walks rapidly. I just clenched my fist to control my emotions. Hindi ko alam kung ano ba 'tong nararamdaman ko. Is this longing? Anger? Or what?

"Kumusta ka na?" Napatigil ako sa paglalakad nang marinig ang tanong niya. Humarap ako sa kanya at napagmasdan kong muli ang mga mata niya. He looks so concerned... or I must say guilty. His eyes looks pleading.

"I'm more okay than before. So, leave me alone."

"Babe!" Halsey suddenly popped out of nowhere. Hindi ko napansin ang pagdating niya. She was wearing a white satin dress that made her look fine. Her long wavy curly hair was blending well with her proportions.

As for myself, I am just in my pants and a simple white shirt. My hair was in a bun with some strands left hanging.

I look so plain beside her. As much as I do not want to compare, I can't. Kaya ba niya ako pinagpalit kasi I am 'plain'?

"Oh, Chelsea, right? I'm Halsey." The woman handed her hand on me. I looked at her hand and there I saw an elegant ring shining. I think she purposedly did that to show off her ring to me.

Hindi ko pinansin ang kamay niya. Wala na akong pake kung mag-isip pa sila ng kung ano-ano.

"Ay sorry, na-intimidate ka ba sa diamond ring ko?"

"Halsey, stop!" Adrian tried to stop her but the woman didn't stop there. Me? I froze to where I am standing.

"Why? I am just flexing our engagement ring. Is that bad?" I sighed deeply and turned my back to them.

"Pwede ba kitang kuning ninang?" I held my lips tightly. These two is testing my patience.

"Halsey, let's go."

"Or kahit punta na lang siya sa kasal natin, would you come, Chelsea?" I sighed deeply before walking away.

"Someone's bitter."

In a swift step, I turned my way to her. Naglakad ako palapit sa kanya. Mukhang nagulat pa siya dahil bigla siyang napaatras.

"What do you want from me?" I said in my serious tone. Hindi ko alam kung ginagalit niya ba ako or what.

"N-Nothing," utal niyang saad. Mukhang natakot na ang gaga.

"Then..." I stepped forward making her step backwards. Si Adrian naman ay nakaalalay sa likod niya.

"Leave me..."

Hindi ko pa tapos ang sasabihin ko ng biglang may humigit ng kamay ko. The familiar scent informed me that it's Vito.

Vito shoved me behind his back. Dahil sa laki ng likod niya ay hindi ko na makita sina Halsey.

"May problema ba rito?" His voice sounds authorious. Malayo sa Vito na nakakausap namin araw-araw. He sounds so serious.

So I sneek a peek to see their reactions. Halos magkasing-tangkad lang pala sila Adrian and Vito. Their eyes are into each other. It looks like they are fighting through their eyes.

Halsey, on the other hand went to Adrian's back to hide. Mukhang na-intimidate sa presence ni Vito.

Adrian turned his gaze down to my hand. Doon ko lang na-realize na hawak pa rin pala ni Vito ang kamay ko. Mabilis kong inagaw ang kamay ko kay Vito.
