Jeno was running his rounds. It wasn't the arena this time, except it was around the school and he huffed, feeling his heart pound in his ears. He looked up to see that his bedroom's lights were on. Jaemin must already be back, Jeno thought.
One more round and he'd go back, Jeno slowing down into a jog when he saw a shadow. He squinted in the dark, the figure coming closer. The cold Seoul air was not enough to cool his body down, Jeno unzipping his track suit when he heard his name.
"Lee Jeno." Kim Bunny's voice was high and it seemed like she had been crying. Jeno frowned and there was a shuffle, the female stepping forward. She was in her strawberry pajamas and Jeno wondered what she was doing there at this time.
He raised an eyebrow, not saying anything when she toddled towards him, hugging him tightly.
Jeno froze, Bunny sniffling.
"Oh, poor poor poor Jeno. Poor you," she murmured against his chest. Jeno had no idea what was going on, Bunny wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. Bunny was distraught. The things she had said the past years would haunt her and she'd try to make up for it.
As tiny as she was, she stood on her tippy toes and patted his head softly.
"Brave, brave, Jeno," she mumbled under her breath and Jeno flickered his eyes over to her. Bunny swallowed, turning and walking away. Bunny sighed to herself. Was it hard for Jeno? Is this why he isolated herself over and over again? Because he was scared of what people would say?
She was one of those people.
Jeno watched as she went back to her dorms. It was Kim Bunny. She had a knack of being emotional. He shook his head, deciding it wouldn't dwell on it.
That night, he reached his dorm to see that there was a lot of food. Jaemin was munching on chips.
"Why did you buy so much?" Jeno asked Jaemin, his best friend shaking his head.
"Not me. Kim Bunny," Jaemin answered. "Came in hauling food in a cart. She said it was for both of us."
"Why?"
"Beats me, it's Kim Bunny," Jaemin replied.
That night, Jeno was online when a chat box popped up.
Bunny: hi
Bunny: did u eat
Jeno: yes
Bunny: goodBunny's thumbs froze over the keyboard, the female slouching back in her bed when Dana asked her for the nth time what happened. She sniffled, turning her back against everyone. She felt so guilty and upon telling Nabi, the older female told her that discrimination happened.
Discrimination happened everywhere. Her phone beeped and Bunny looked down onto her screen.
Jeno: hey
Jeno is typing....
It was a simple message from Lee Jeno but it made Bunny feel better about herself. It made Bunny's heart flutter, the female staring at it.
Jeno: thank you
Jeno didn't know what he thanked Bunny for. He hoped that she'd take it as a thank you for the food but it was actually every thing she had done for him.
Bunny: hugs <3
Jeno smiled. How cute, he thought to himself.
Little did he know that as time passed, he'd find himself adoring her more than he thought he would.
