The return of Jeno and Jaemin back to Korea was an event meant for rejoice. Banners at the airport and people screaming their name as Jeno carried both his and Jaemin's bags out to the bus that were to escort both of them NCT Training Center.
Upon reaching NCT Training Center, Jaemin waddled over to the love of his life who peppered his face with kisses. Bunny had rushed over to Jeno, tackling him with her small frail arms when she stood on tiptoe and kissed his cheek.
It wasn't the first time they kissed; it was the second. After their first kiss back in Bunny's room where she would think about it over and over again, they have never touched each other only when needed to. They were still in their initial stages of their relation despite Bunny telling Jeno that she loved him and would never love anyone else like him ever again.
Jeno smiled, pressing a kiss on her forehead and allowing her chatter on away about how her schedule was but she would not (absolutely not!), even think of doing anything else other than spend time with Jeno.
"Jeno, I watched your show," Nabi said and Jeno laughed.
"Oh, Noona."
"Did you have to let Jaemin eat lunch with the lunch ladies?" Nabi asked, Jaehyun snickering from beside his girlfriend. "Come here. Give me a hug."
As Bunny stepped away, Jeno felt Nabi's arms wrap around him.
"You know this is when you hug me back?" Nabi asked, Jeno awkwardly reaching up to pat her shoulder when a cough sounded from Jaehyun.
"Alright... That's enough."
It was good to see his friends again even if his tenure back at Orx Training Center in Russia was short-lived to just a few weeks. The peace did not last for long, however, and Jeno and Jaemin's arrival was just in time for a national game coming up. NCT Training Center was ranked one of the highest and their players were very promising.
This is why the council decided that if NCT Training Center could win the national games against Thailand, they would allow the center to keep their senior players and further train them into Legend Players instead of breaking them apart.
This was music to Kyungsoo's ears since skills could be trained but collaboration between players were hard to build. Jeno and Jaemin didn't even get time to breath and were pushed into training.
"I want our best players on the field," Kyungsoo began as Johnny turned on the powerpoint. Kyungsoo nodded to Johnny who began to briefing.
"We are at a disadvantage. Thailand's weather is hot," Johnny began. "You'll be losing sweat. We need to train you in hot weather for the next few weeks. You'll have to be careful of the draft pick of characters, they know our strategy but we don't know theirs."
"We start off with the people who'll have to train entirely new characters. Kim Bunny, Na Jaemin, Jung Jaehyun, Park Nabi."
"Not very smart to play on the national games with no years of experience with that character," Nabi breathed. "Not smart at all."
"Not smart, but possible. We know that they'll ban our usual characters, Nabi."
That was true, too.
Johnny checked his watch and with a single motion, his players stood up.
"No time to lose," Johnny barked. "The future of NCT Training Center lies in your hands."
A week passed by and Kim Bunny would sometimes be seen leaning against the turret, sweat dripping from her forehead. Pigtails? Her long thick hair was now a bun, the female huffing and puffing. Nabi switched to a gun. The aim was similar but there was knock-back and she needed to get used to it.
Jaehyun was playing Cyborg, Johnny's old character. He was receiving personal training from Johnny from dusk till dawn, both of them finally going against each other as they spun around in their iron suits.
They all needed a tank and a support, Mark and Yuta thrown in the mix. It would be a big game of 8 people, Kyungsoo told them. It didn't take long for the day of the game to finally arrive, all players heading over to Arena of Siam in Thailand.
