Lunch had continued on, Yangyang snapping photos of everyone so he would be able to earn a few wons. I turned to Hansol, the male asking me if there was anything else I wanted. Jeno was having the time of his life—everyone going out of their way to make him feel better.

He was fine now, he told them. Don't worry.

My ex-boyfriend got along well with everyone. It took me by surprise. Hansol and Yuta was in a deep conversation and I found myself studying both of them.

"They look alike, don't you think?" Dana asked, her eyes on the phone. I chuckled, nodding.

I did not notice the ambience change when a figure began to approach the cafeteria. Dana did, the female looking up and about to say something when a hand grabbed mine, my body turning towards the person.

Jung Jaehyun.

I could feel eyes on both of us, everyone wondering what was happening. Everyone knew that Jaehyun and I were not exactly the same as we were before Hansol and Yena came.

Jaehyun's gaze settled on me and I felt him tighten his grip around my wrist. His eyes seemed defiant—angry. He looked like he would wage war with anyone who'd cross his path. It was a look I've never seen on Jaehyun before.

Jaehyun was quiet as he tugged my hand to bring me with him when another reached for mine.

Hansol.

Hansol had stood up, his eyes flashing at Jung Jaehyun.

Both hands were held by my past and my present. I gulped, Hansol tilting his head at Jaehyun. He wasn't going to go down without a fight and Jaehyun wasn't going to let go easily.

"What do you think you're doing?" Hansol asked. He did not snap but I could hear the edge in his voice. Hansol was trying to still sound respectful. I watched as Jaehyun's lips tugged up into a cocky smirk, challenging Hansol to stop him.

"What I was supposed to do the day you came." Jaehyun stepped closer to me, pulling me towards him so my back was pressed against his chest.

If this was a fight between the two men, it was obvious that it was the kind of tension that would build over the days. They both were dominant in their own way. Hansol was known to be resilient when it came to what he wanted. Jaehyun was known to be aggressive once his buttons were pushed.

Whatever happened with him when he left the classroom earlier had shattered his restraints.

Hansol was the king of being passive-aggressive and Jaehyun was just the same. I nervously tried to warn Hansol with my eyes but my partner did not seem fazed.

"Why? Did you finally find your balls?" Hansol asked, a contrasting kind smile on his face.

I felt Jaehyun tense up, his hand releasing my wrist just to slide down to wrap his arm around my waist from behind.
