Chapter 50

Arena

I was walking down the hallway when someone called my name. I looked back to see Kendra running to me. I smiled "morning Kendra." She looked at me and started me down.

"What are you doing?" I asked watching her. "You look better..." I smiled "yeah I got some sleep last night." "...hey if you ever need help or just want to talk I'm free anytime."

"David told you about Max didn't he?" "I don't know what your talking about." I smiled "Kendra you know how we're best friends?" She nodded her head "well that means I know when your lying or telling the truth."

She sighed "fine he told me but don't be mad at him he was just trying-" "yeah I know" I said cutting her off. I smiled and hugged her "thanks Kendra if I need to talk I'll call you."

She squeezed me a little bit "friends Forever." "Friends forever" I said back and she let go of me and went to her next class. I looked down the hallway, David you idiot.

I got to science class and saw that David was already there. He saw me and smiled "hey you don't look like a zombie anymore." I smiled a little "I guess I have someone to thank for that."

I put a bottle of Pepsi and a half eaten brownie on the table and pushed it towards him. He looked at it and then at me "what is this?" "It's a thank you gift for yesterday..."

"Why is the brownie half eaten?" I shrugged "I got hungry." He smiled "you know that doesn't really surprise me." "Hey what's that suppose to mean?"

"It means that I've never seen anybody have an appetite like you." "My doctor says I have a good appetite." "Has he meet you?" I smiled and shoved him a little "get to work on the project."

"Yes Ma'am." He said and we started to work on the project. We barley finished in time but we got done. We handed our teacher the project and started to walk down the hallway.

"It's been a pretty nice day." David said and I glance over at him. "And why is that?" "Because we didn't fight at all today." I looked down at me feet, that's because Travis is sick it didn't come to school today.

"It was kinda nice to enjoy each other presents." "Yeah..." I shut my eyes trying to stop myself from crying. When Travis comes back everything will go back to what they use too.

"Arena?" I heard David say and I opened my eyes. He was giving me a concern look and I put on the best fake smile I could do. "well I got to go, have lots of homework and stuff..."

Before he could say anything else I walked away. When I got outside I looked up at the sky and looked at the clouds that where blocking the sun. I'm sorry David but it's for your own good if you stay away from me.
