Arena
This should be enough wood for a fire. I thought as I picked up one more stick. I better start heading back or David is going to scowl me. I headed back to the lake to fine him out of the water and siting down.
I went over to him and set the wood next to him. "any luck?" "It wasn't easy but I got caught six. Will that be enough?" "Yeah that should be plenty, can you build the fire?"
"Sheesh do you want me to do everything?" "Do you want to eat?" His stomach growled "yes..." "Then make the fire, I'm going to go clean the blood off the fish."
"Okay, be careful." "I'll be fine." I went over to the river and started to clean the fish. After I was done I went back over to David who had the fire ready.
"How are you going to cook these?"
I carefully poked a stick through a fish. "With patients and some luck." A half an hour later it was done and we were chowing down. "This is really good Arena." "You sound surprise."
"Well you didn't have lots of material to cook and you had to use a fire. So I did expect it to taste bad." "Yeah..." "Now that I think about it you made that amazing spaghetti too. Your really good at cooking."
"No I was just lucky." I said taking a bite. "Why do you do that?" "Do what?" I asked confused. "Pretending not to be someone that you are." "David I don't understand."
"Everything about you is fake!" I was really lost now, how could everything about me be fake? "David I think you hit your head harder then we thought." He sighed "whatever I don't care."
"No I want to know what you meant." "You live to everyone's expectations, they tell you to do something and you do it. If they say your favorite color is yellow then your favorite color is yellow."
"That is so not true." "Yes it is Arena!" I looked at him, shocked by how angry he was. "Your always letting everyone decide for you giving you no freedom to be yourself. That's why I get so mad with you because you let them."
I went silent no sure what to say. "Anyways we better get some sleep we walked a lot today." He said laying down were he was sitting. "Yeah okay..." I laid down where I was siting too.
I rubbed my arms, I wish I had brought a jacket like David it's so cold at night. I wonder if what David says is true. And at some point I managed to fall asleep.
