"You better be god damn kiddin' right now- all this Savior shit has gone to your head." Merle spat in disgust, marching back and forth between Bella, Gavin and Dwight. "He ain't gonna kill jus' one, or two, or three- if anythin' it'll be the whole damn community. You realise—"
"I think she gets the picture—"
"You know what homeboy, I don't give a gorilla's ass crack what you think." Merle snapped towards Gavin before turning back to the woman that gave him a chance at life. "You do this- you lose a part of yourself you ain't ever gonna get back, believe me." But she didn't show any flicker of emotion, as though she had turned the switch. Merle snickered down at her, feeling fuelled on disappointment. "This ain't you- I ain't gonna let you do it."
"What else we gonna do, huh?" Dwight questioned, biting down on his lower lip as he bared witness to the load Bella was choosing to carry. "I don't know you two well enough- I get that, but somethin' tells me she wouldn't be doin' this if there was another way."
"She wouldn't be doin' any of this shit if it wasn't for y'all!" Merle cursed loud enough for each of them to shift uncomfortably, except Bella.
"I've done worse." She finally spoke but avoided his gaze.
"No, you ain't. That's the damn point." He knelt down to her, hoping desperately that she would listen. "Belle', you taught me there's always another way- that we make the path, we lay down the bricks, mix up the damn cement. You really gonna tell me all that was bullshit?"
"It never applied to me." She responded through a gravelly tone, still struggling to find her voice but pushing it nonetheless.
Holding back his tongue and the fiery words that wanted to run from it, he sighed and made his way across to the side wall units to lean against them. "Now you're the damn mystery."
Bella wanted to bite back and snap him out of his blinded rage, frustrated that he couldn't see what was right before him, but she didn't have the energy for it. It was taking everything she had to do this, because she knew once it was over, she would never be the same again.
"What'd we do about Simon?" Dwight asked, causing the three men to look at each other with slight confusion. "Well he set the whole thing up, right? You two just told Negan it was the Kingdom, that's gonna raise some eyebrows."
"If they want to stay alive, it won't." Bella announced coldly, seemingly unworried about her brothers right hand man. "The matter is already in hand. I wanna know about Sasha."
"Negan's keepin' her guarded in the south wing- he figures he can use her to his advantage, maybe even turn her." Dwight explained.
"That ain't gonna happen- that son of a bitch slaughtered the two most important people in her damn life." Merle exclaimed. "You ask me, she'll shove somethin' nice an sharp right below his heart, let him bleed out..."
