As I wandered through the sea of bodies on the ground, I felt my nose twitch with a stinging sensation as I fought back the tears waiting to pore. My frame was tensed, muscles still fiery but my rapidly racing chest had begun to slow.

"I will never, not on your Nelly, be on board with the plan after this." Eugene whisper shouted, his face full of rage unlike anything I had ever seen before.

"Eugene—"

"No, Bella!" His raised voice caught me off guard as his eyes narrowed in anguish. "Don't go usin' your tongue twistin' ways to sway me. You made your choice, a choice I imagine most will calculate as the right thing, but I cannot do the same. Judge me if you choose- after today, I know my conscience will be well and truly crystal clear."

"Will it?" I asked with an etch of sarcasm and shame.

He closed the gap between us, asserting dominance I don't think he even realised he had and shook his head in disgust. "There are a sea of bodies out there, and we could have well been apart of it. So I'm A-okay with obeying Negan and assuring I stay alive, and I will not feel bad about it!"

Quiet growls came from behind me, as I slowly turned to find a young girl trapped under a rotted walkers body. The back of my hand met my mouth as I stifled a cry; she couldn't have been older than five or six. Her long blonde hair, tangled, eyes clouded and her skin turned grey. Retracting my blade, I did what I had to and severed the remaining connection through the back of her skull. She fell silent and her freed limbs became limp.

After circling the dead with Elijah and several other soldiers, we began to separate our own from the herd that had entered. I carried the young girl to where we were laying out the fallen, and carefully placed her on the cold, stone ground.

"Please, let us through—"

"Move!"

I looked up to find the couple I had met earlier in the day, but their faces were distraught and I began to remember all they had told me. Once they caught sight of me, they let their eyes trail to what was beneath me and almost instantly the mother dropped to the ground.

"No-agh, no... no!" She cried hysterically, and the father soon caught hold of her as he tried to keep himself together.

The young girl I had found, who's life had been snatched away so viciously, was the daughter of Sydney and Sidney.

After we dealt with the bodies, and I had been confronted by Eugene, a group were helping Dr. Carson deal with those who were injured and I was on my way to meet with my brother. The same question ran through my head, how could my people do something so cruel when we had a plan. With me inside these same walls, the ones that were helping us win, and those who are innocent in all of this, how. They didn't just risk every single thing we had fought so hard to obtain, but they risked my babies life too.
