I waited for just over ten minutes before someone knocked on the door. I set down the compass I was toying with and stood up. "Finally!"

The door opened and Alexander peeked in. "Hi," He chimed. I walked over, arms crossed. "You didn't have to lock me away you know," I said, opening the door more. He shrugged and stepped aside a bit. "I know. I just didn't want you in that situation," He trailed off and the word went unsaid. Again.

I swallowed but gave him a small nod. "Thank you," I said quietly. He leaned forward and gave me a quick kiss. "Of course,"

I took a deep breath and composed myself before walking onto the deck, everyone's eyes on me. I did a small bow, saying, "Good morning! Y/N Schuyler, pleasure to meet you."

I wanted to seem cheery and stable after what had just happened, after the near-panic attack.

They all bowed in return. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked beside me. Alexander stood next to me, his eyes forward and chin up. I smiled and looked back to the sailors.

There was at least 30 of them. I quickly assessed them before giving myself a small reassuring nod.

"You will treat Y/N with better respect than you treat me with. I'm sure you've heard her stories and as a witness, I can confirm they are all true." I blushed but kept my posture.

I heard footsteps behind me and everyone looked.

Walking towards us all was a tall man in a black sailor uniform. He had metal badges clipped to his coat that shone as he walked. His head was down and mysterious, his brown framing his face.

"The captain," someone murmured.

The man didn't address anyone as he walked forward, only stopping beside Alexander. We all waited in silence before he finally spoke.

"Now now Alexander. You know only I give orders on this ship."

Their voice was deep and smooth. It was eerily mysterious and made goosebumps on my skin. I stiffened as he angled his head to us a bit. I just knew he was staring at me.

Alexander shifted into his feet but didn't lower his hand from my shoulder. "Yes Captain, of course Captain."

The captain nodded and lifted his head all the way. I was stunned.

His jaw was chiseled and strong, his cheekbones prominent. His eyes were bright green, like from a fairy tale, as they stared at us all. He was honestly very very attractive, not to be disloyal to Alexander of course.

Quick A/N: google "Jensen Ackles long hair" it's like the most attractive pics okay?

I sucked in a breath and forced myself to look forward. The man assessed us all before his eyes lingered on my face.

He stepped around Alexander and in front of me. "Look at me, girl." He commanded. Though I wasn't one for commands, I looked directly into his eyes.

They were a mix of several different shades of green, all reminding me of the princes they tell you about it stories. Though, he was no prince. He was a sailor that demands respect from his crew and since this is his ship, I will give him the respect he demands.

His eyes flicked to Alexander's hand and I shrugged it off. He gave a hum of approval and looked back to me.

"Full name. Middle and all." "Y/F/N Y/M/N Schuyler."

"Age." "22." I wanted to appear older to seem more mature and capable.

"How long have you been on my ship?" "Since Albany." He gave me an impressed grin.

"Why are you on my ship?" Oh no. I need an answer and fast.

"I'm a patriot spy!" What?!

The captain chuckled sarcastically. "Why would the patriots hire a girl to be a spy?" He snapped. I lifted my chin a bit. "It's the best cover, is it not? Who would expect a woman to be a spy?" I annunciated my gender so he would stop calling me girl.

His eyebrows raised a bit and I shrugged casually. "After what happened on my first boat, I got a taste of the war and couldn't stay away."

He chuckled darkly. "Risky woman. Isn't it a tad dangerous for you to be sneaking in boats?" He challenged. I huffed a laugh. "Dangerous isn't in my vocabulary. I prefer the term fun."

We all waited for his response. Did I do well? Or did I break my cover?

Breaking the tense air, the captain laughed and clasped a hand on my shoulder, the shoulder Alexander was holding.

Everyone flinched before awkwardly laughing. The captain pointed at me with his free hand and said, "Now that is a sailor! Captain Leonard Kingsley, at your service."

He grasped my hand and shook it. "I'm honored to have the legend herself on board!"

I blinked and gave a small smile. "Legend is a bit of an exaggeration, don't you think Captain Kingsley?" I mused.

Everyone was very wide-eyed and confused. I guess he wasn't normally like this.

Kingsley waved off my humbleness. "It's appropriate, Schuyler. You did things the most experienced sailors — and soldiers — could never do!"

Before I could say anything else, he turned to the crew. "You treat this sailor with the respect you treat me with! She's earned it."

Great. Now it was going to be extra awkward around everyone!

"Yes Captain!" They all said in unison. He nodded and left without another word. His door shut and everyone looked at me in bewilderment. I blinked and faced Alexander, who was staring at me too.

I snapped my fingers and he blinked, coming to his senses. "Erm, well, that was unexpected." He mumbled. I scoffed and said, "No shit! I thought he was cold and demanding!"

"He is!" The crew said. I faced them. "Then why was he so amazed by me??" They all rolled their eyes. "We all are, ma'am."

"What?!"
