✧Misma POV✧
"Rise and shine, we need to leave soon," Gwyn beamed, leaning over me. "Come on, I have already put clothes out for you so hurry, huuuurrry!" I looked at her, blinking a few times. I only got a few hours of sleep, my head feeling slightly dizzy.
I had dreamed a lot and had constantly woken up, trying to order my thoughts—what was reality and what had just happened in the dreams.
And I had mostly dreamed nothing positive. Not about Azriel. No, it had nearly all been about my father and Keir.
When finally getting out of bed, my legs feeling heavy and a loud yawn leaving my mouth, I slowly waddled into the bathroom and got myself ready, pinning some hair back but leaving the rest to fall naturally. I also put on the clothes Gwyn had placed on the bathroom sink for me. I brushed my fingers over the soft fabric when—
"Gwyn!" I shouted. The priestess stormed in the room with, her eyes wide open. First she looked at me like she had seen a ghost but then an innocent smile spread over her face. "What?"
"What? This is barely covering anything. I hope you know that!?" I told her, a reproachful look on my face. "Oh, please. It covers enough. You look beautiful in it," she stated and looked me up and down with a big grin on her face, her teal eyes shining brightly. She was right–it covered enough it was just a bit tight and maybe also a bit revealing. I simply wasn't used to wearing something so....I could not find words to describe it. So indecent?
I wore tight white leggings and a thin beige blouse. It was cut a bit too low for my liking. I fumbled with the edges, pulling and tugging slightly.
"Don't roll your eyes, it looks amazing on you. Let's go!" the priestess beamed, grabbing my hand and pulling me after her.
"Yes?"
"Yes! It is perfect."∙∙✧ ✧ ✧∙∙
"Alright, daggers. Gwyn, you can use daggers, Nesta, you can too. Misma, you don't, right?" Cassian asked me. Gwyn, Nesta and I stood in a straight line. Cassian and Azriel in front of us.
How should I know how to use a dagger?
I shook my head, biting down on my lip. "Uhm, nope! I mean look at me, do I look like I know how to use a dagger?" I argued, using my hand to gesture to my body while wiggling my feet on the grass.
Obviously I could not wield daggers.
A small smirk appeared on Azriel's face although he tried really hard to keep his face stern and unreadable. The shadows swooshed around him, stretching out.
Cassian squinted his eyes at me, a thoughtful look plastering his face. In the background I spotted a few of the priestesses already doing exercises. I somehow liked that. That those females also trained. That they could do exercises. That everyone got a chance to be happy.
"Hm, right. But you said you threw a fork at Beron and it stuck in the wall. How did you do that?"
"With a lot of anger?" I stated, gritting my teeth. Fueled by anger a lot of things are possible.
The corner of Azriel's mouth tipped upwards. Something sparkled in his eyes when he met my gaze."Makes sense, but how did you throw it so that it got stuck in the wall?" the Illyrian general asked. I deliberated and shrugged one shoulder. "Well, when I was mad at my parents, at my father, I sometimes threw..... knitting needles after him. Or let's say when he closed the door I threw them against the door. At some point I managed that they got stuck in the door or wall," I explained, an innocent look on my face. I felt heat slowly spread from my neck up to my cheeks.
It had always been the same: I had been sitting in my room, minding my own business. He had rushed in blamed me for something I hadn't even done, I had gotten punishment and he had stormed off again. I had thrown the needles after him. He had done that so many times, I got a lot of practice. Jeen had also been the one to the get loud. She had shouted after him, while I was rather calm and had given vent to my anger silently.
