𝔅𝔩𝔦𝔫𝔡 Diamond led you through the docks at a rather quick pace, a fixed expression on his face that was mostly neutral but bordered on a scowl.

"What's wrong with you this morning?" You muttered under your breath, stealing a glance at his face, so contrasting with his usual smug grin or smirk.

He heard, shooting you a look with a slightly raised eyebrow. "Trust me, Princess, this ain't the type of crowd you wanna hang around in. Don't make yourself a mark; stay quiet, look like you know what you're doing, and stay with me."

You did know what you were doing. You were escaping. Probably. He was right, you didn't like the look of the people in the crowd. Rough, loud; you'd no doubt most of them were pirates, and not Blink's type of pirates either. You told yourself you didn't mind sticking close to the captain until you were into the markets more, further from the docks. You didn't have your sword, or any weapon really, and didn't want a confrontation if you could avoid it. And you needed him at ease, so you didn't pull away when Blind Diamond pulled you closer to him as you passed a particularly rambunctious group, even going so far as to squeeze his arm slightly.

You could tell he was surprised, the way he tensed slightly at your actions, but he didn't show it, that mask still remaining as smooth as ever as he led you finally into the town proper, into the maze of brightly colored stalls in the streets of the city.

Then he turned to you, his smirk back on his lips, and you were surprised to find you'd missed it. "Welcome to Ayzar, Princess."

An hour or so later that was filled with Blind Diamond showing off the markets-- everything from blown glass figurines and intricately beaded jewelry to absolutely delicious smelling food and drinks.

The pirate captain handed you a couple skewers of perfectly roasted meat and vegetables with a grin.

"Did you pay for this?" You asked skeptically, seeing as you'd been too distracted to actually see him do so.

"At least one of them, yes." He replied cheekily.

You raised an eyebrow.

"If it makes you feel better, I paid for all of 'em. Don't need to deal with that sort of hassle today."

You reluctantly took a bite, forgetting everything right away at the scrumptious taste. You missed Kid Blink's soft smile at your obvious delight as you continued eating, letting your eyes wander around the market as the two of you continued strolling.

A soft touch to your elbow a second later, the pirate was talking with somebody he introduced as merely an associate, not holding your arm anymore as you were both eating. You saw your chance. Tamping down the slight sadness you for some reason felt at the thought of leaving the ship and those on it-- it must have been for David only, that was it-- you started phase one of your escape.

"I'll be right back, Captain, I just want to look over there," You said softly, whispering to him as to not interrupt his conversation.

He nodded, a slight bobbing of his Adam's apple visible as he swallowed. "I'll be right there, Princess." He murmured back.

But by the time he'd turned around a couple minutes later, you were gone.

You moved quickly through the crowds, heartbeat frantic as you hoped desperately that you wouldn't run into Crutchy or any of the other boys. It would have been just your luck, you knew it.

Asking for directions from a couple different people had you progressing further and further into a seedier and seedier area of town, the shops and stalls darkening in hue and your fine clothes sticking out like a sore thumb.

Yet nobody messed with you; some, upon a glance, crossed the road. You weren't sure if you looked that intimidating, but weren't going to press the matter.

Finally, finally, you arrived at the building David had described. Entering, you grimaced at the cobwebbed windows, trying to avoid eye contact with the spiders.

A shocked gasp sounded from the desk inside the room, behind which a woman, the source of the gasp, sat.

"Hello." You said quickly.

"Hello." She said, quickly recovering her professional demeanor. "How may I help you today, Lady?"

Your brow furrowed, and you took a step closer. "I'm no Lady. I need your help-- I've a... package that needs delivery." You spoke the key words carefully, leaving no doubt to your intentions.

"I'm afraid I can't help you." She said hastily, her eyes darting over you wildly. "No, I'm afraid I can't help you at all."

"I don't think you understand-- I need a package delivered. To Uncle Ryn? In his orchard?" Your voice rose worriedly, the code words David had made you repeat over and over spilling unprompted from your lips.

"Lady, there's nothing I can do for you. This establishment isn't accepting orders at this time." The woman said firmly, but you saw it in her eyes. She was afraid of something. But you didn't know what.

"Please," You said, the color dropping from your face. "I'm Y/N, Princess Y/N. My uncle-- David-- he sent me. You have to be able to--"

"No, ma'am, I'm afraid you have the wrong place." The woman spoke loudly over you, her eyes darting to just above your shoulder.

Soft footfalls sounded from behind you, and your heart sank. Turning slowly, you saw Blind Diamond standing there, one thumb hitched in his belt and the other hand propped on his sword handle. His posture was straight and tall, and his gaze was the coldest you'd seen.

"I believe she does. We'll be going now, Y/N."

It was the first time he'd said your name. And for some reason his use of it made your heart sink lower than your math grades.
