ℌ𝔦𝔰 lips were firm and soft at the same time against yours, standing tall and yet molding to you, carefully gentle but you could feel the barely-there desperation that lurked beneath it. And you felt it vanish when you kissed him back, pressing against him as he kissed you harder, your mind spiraling crazily and unable to focus on anything but him.
And then the pressure of his lips eased, and he was pulling back and breathing in and your lips were still buzzing when you let go of his shoulders and pushed yourself away and raised a hand and slapped him.
You realized then you hadn't breathed, your lips parting as you took a deep breath, eyes wide. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Well I wasn't actually thinking, to tell you the truth, it was more..." Blind Diamond trailed off. "Just the doing part."
You shook your head, collapsing onto the couch. The boy had enough sense not to sit next to you, going so far as to move a little further away to give you some space.
"Made your knees weak, huh?" He smirked at you, some of his hair falling into his face, and you shot him a withering glare.
"What were you thinking?"
"We've established I wasn't, Princess." He flopped down into the chair facing you, brushing his hair from his eyes, every inch the crown prince. You hated how confident he looked, how sure he was you were completely fine with whatever had just happened. And you hated that you were, in fact, completely fine with whatever had just happened.
But you didn't have to let him know that.
"B'sides, you liked it."
You didn't have to let him know that!
"I'm not sure where you got that from, seeing as I slapped you." You said, as coldly as you could.
"Yeah, but you kissed me back first." He grinned boyishly at you. "So it can't have been all bad. Additionally, I am willing to learn, so if you would like to demonstrate what I did wrong--"
"How about 'kissed me'?" Your eyebrows raised again. "Consent is key, Your Highness."
"I just--" He broke off, rubbing the back of his neck and not meeting your eyes, as if your words had struck a chord. "It's okay. You know what, it's okay. It'll still work. I won't kiss you again," he mumbled, peeking up at you through his fringe of hair. "And, um, I... I'm sorry?"
Oh dear, that was dangerously attractive.
"Just-- keep it in mind for the future." You said, standing up and stepping slightly towards him. You hesitated, and then dropped a kiss to his forehead right in the spot where he'd kissed you. Turning, you hurried towards the dressing screen that stood in the corner of a room to hide your furiously blushing cheeks, wishing you'd remembered you were stuck in a room with him before you'd done that last bit.
Peeking through the gaps in the woven screen, you saw him lift a hand and touch the spot where your lips had just been ever so lightly. A slow, wide grin broke over his face as he stared directly at where you'd gone. His lips-- would you ever be able to look at his lips again?-- moved silently in words you strained to make out.
You were pretty sure they were 'she kissed me back'.
