𝔜𝔬𝔲 stood on the aft deck, fingers gripping the railing tightly to more easily provide yourself with balance. You had your 'sea legs', to be sure, but would still rather be reassured during some of the more rough patches-- like now. Your eyes were fixed on the horizon, the occasional spray of water from a particularly large wave dashing against your face and turning your hair frizzy. It was getting knotted, too, the wind that spiraled across the ship and filled the sails twisting the strands into knots. But frankly, you couldn't care less at the moment. Right now you just wanted to be alone, and this little spot was the best you could do. You knew you'd be sought for soon, given that you'd jimmied the lock on your door with a hairpin Feliciti had lent you, but right now you were alone, perfectly happy to watch as the wake of the ship cut through the soft waves, the foamy white water taking precedence over the grayish blues for a brief moment before becoming enveloped in the rest of the ocean.

A soft sigh bubbled from your lips, and a voice behind you asked, "What's wrong?"

You restrained yourself from jumping in fright, taking a second to get your nerves under control before turning to face the pirate captain. "Nothing." You said coolly, unable to resist, "Besides the obvious."

That flash of amusement, which was becoming very frequent, flickered over his face. "Still on that?"

"Still- it was this morning." You replied acidly, crossing your arms with a slight glare.

"I thought you'd be happier about it, to tell you the truth, Princess." He said, ignoring your comment and leaning on the railing. You briefly considered how easy it would be to push him over, and then realized you'd definitely go before the king if you did that.

"Let's see, pirates who act like they're supposed to or pirates who most definitely don't..." You thought for a minute, exaggeratedly tapping one finger on your lower lip. "I'd have to say the former."

"Thought you were more... adventurous than that." Blind Diamond- Kid Blink -said, his voice low and baiting.

"Aren't I?" You kept your tone placid, remembering your goal. You hated trying to make people like you, but sometimes it had to be done. And revealing your sarcasm generally wasn't the best way.

"I suppose not." He said, disappointment lacing the words for a brief second. "Anyway, I came to tell you that dinner is in an hour."

"A little early, isn't it?" You commented.

"Don't tell me you're not hungry." He smirked, and you had to admit he was right. "You'll be dining with me, in my office. Feliciti says she has a dinner dress ready in your room."

You remembered how you'd gotten out of your room and froze slightly, but the boy continued on, seemingly not caring. "I suggest you go get changed, to make sure it fits and all."

You nodded a little, turning to go without a word. Kid Blink watched you go for a long, long minute before shaking himself out of whatever thoughts he'd had and going to get ready for the meal.

A couple minutes later found you staring at the dress on your bed, blinking slowly. "You made this?" You said to Feliciti and Mak, who were standing next to it with a proud smile.

"Yes." Feliciti confirmed, holding it up.

"In a day?" You couldn't help yourself from ogling the dress. The fabric looked exceedingly fine, and as for the dress itself... it was simplistic but elegant, a dark blue that matched your bedspread quite well, and in the style of a toga-- except the fabric looped over both shoulders. The waist of the dress was high, made from a slightly darker shade of blue that wrapped around and gathered at your left hip. The skirt flared out slightly as it passed your hips, falling in slight waves. Shimmering silver embroidery lined the skirt and waist of the dress, creating an ocean-like effect.

"Yes." Mak replied with a slightly smug expression. "Try it on, try it on. It's going to look perfect on you."

You ducked into the small closet to change, marveling at the way the dress fit perfectly. Stepping out, the girls helped you do up the buttons in the back. Running your hands down to smooth the fabric, you paused, making an unexpected discovery. "Pockets?"

"Of course. What kind of a dress would it be otherwise?" said Feliciti, smiling.

"I think this is is my favorite dress in the world now." You muttered.

"As it should be." Mak said with a grin, pushing you to sit down, back to the mirror. "I'm going to do your hair." She announced, starting to adjust the strands.

"Do something that highlights her neck, oh wait, I forgot the necklace." Feliciti jumped up and hurried from the room.

You shifted slightly in your seat as Mak tried different arrangements with your hair, finally pronouncing it ready just as Feliciti reentered with a simple silver necklace swinging from one finger. She handed it to Mak and put her hands over your eyes, ignoring Mak's squawk of "Mind her hair!"

Mak fastened the necklace in the back for you, and Feliciti stood you up, hands still over your eyes, turning you around to face the mirror on the wall. "The big reveal." She whispered in a hushed tone, dropping her hands from your eyes.

Your eyes darted to your your reflection, taking in your carefully done hair with silvery pins that matched the embroidery, the silver necklace with the small, royal blue stone that neatly complimented the dress. "Impressive." You said, wondering, not for the first time, why the two obviously extremely talented girls were pirates.

"Very." Feliciti agreed with a solemn nod.

"Hurry along, you'll be late for dinner." Mak said with a little smirk. "And don't worry 'bout David, I'll see he sits by a nice girl. Elizabeth probably, seeing as she's not attached at the moment..." Mak mused thoughtfully.

You raised your eyebrows slightly at the girl's... matchmaking? was that what it was? if so, it was a very poor time for it. But you didn't say anything, instead simply heading for the hatch that led on deck.
