𝔐𝔢𝔞𝔫𝔴𝔥𝔦𝔩𝔢, Blind Diamond had returned to his rooms. Having been briefed by a passerby after momentarily panicking when you weren't there, he settled down to his task. Or, as settled as he could get. Flipping through the formalwear in the small closet, he frowned slightly as he thought about how he could tease you-- because he knew you well enough to know you were going to get him back and that he'd need to have his moves planned well ahead of time if he wanted to be able to play... given that he was sure he wouldn't be capable of proper thought once the game well and truly began.

He pulled out a jacket and tried it on. It was too tight in the shoulders-- he'd grown since the last time he was here. With a sigh he tossed it back in.

A knock sounded on the door and his cousin stuck her head in with a smirk.

"Thought you might need some help, dear cousin." Meredith produced a suit, swinging the door open and holding it up for view.

Blink quirked an eyebrow, crossing the room and taking it from her thoughtfully. "Am I right to assume you know what you're talking about?"

"You are, actually. Never thought I'd say that."

"And am I right to assume there is a reason my... uh, the princess isn't here?"

"Indeed you are." Meredith smirked at him, turning to leave.

"And am I right to assume Y/N has something planned?" Blink said quickly, before she left.

"You're on a roll, Tywysog." Meredith paused at the door. "And no, I won't tell you what she's doing. That would ruin all the fun."

He frowned slightly, muttering something underneath his breath. "I thought you were going to help me."

"I have. The bare minimum. Because honestly, I'm on Y/N's side today." His cousin's smirk turned to a grin. "I'll send you some help. No promises how much he'll actually be, though. Ta-ta, cousin. See you at dinner."

The door closed behind her, and the prince sighed. Grabbing the suit, he tried it on. It fit perfectly, and he rolled his eyes. Elves. He crossed to the mirror and buttoned up the white silk shirt that hugged tightly to his torso and tucked it into the crisp black suit pants. He mentally thanked his lucky stars he'd been out sailing for the past few weeks, so he didn't look nearly as pale as he could have in the sea of fabric.

Actually he looked rather good, he thought smugly as he popped the collar of the shirt and began fastening the violet tie around his neck. It took a couple tries, and the smug smile had vanished by the end, but eventually it tied nicely. Well, slightly crookedly, but nobody would notice. Blind Diamond shrugged the suit jacket over his shoulders and noticed his brown eye patch was now definitely mismatched. A knock on the door sounded, and he rolled his eye and called "Come in, Troy."

"How'd you know it was me?" The elf that Blink was all too familiar with asked upon entry.

"Meredith said she'd send you," The prince replied, neglecting to mention everything else she'd said.

"Huh. Nice suit."

"Thank you." Blind Diamond examined himself in the mirror and ran a hand through his hair. "Did you happen to see Princess Y/N?"

"Nope. Meredith said you'd ask. So she didn't let me."

The pirate murmured something under his breath. "Do you at least know how to do hair?"

"I can braid," Troy offered.

"Oh, good, do you happen to have wildflowers on you? That would really complete the look."

"No, but I can get some."

Blind Diamond sighed. Yeah, he was exactly the same. "Forget it, I'm just messing with you."

"Okay so what should I do?"

"Can you get me to the armory without being seen?" And find somebody who knows what they're doing?

"Oh, yeah, I can do that." And to Kid Blink's amazement, Troy hopped up and pressed a section of the back wall, causing a trapdoor in the floor to open. Peering down, the prince saw  boards nailed to the tree below.

"I'll just... change real quick then." The boy backed up and started unbuttoning the suit as Troy slipped through the trapdoor. After he'd slipped back into his comfortable clothes, the prince took a breath and started climbing down, eye shut tight.

This was not what he'd expected. But... it would get him there unseen, so maybe it was worth it. His foot slipped slightly off of the plank, and Blind Diamond's heart skipped in a way he thought only you could make happen.

Then again, maybe it wasn't.
