ℑ𝔱 was nearly night when you approached the Talin town. It was small, more of an outpost, but the mere sight of the familiar architecture, fashions, and smells almost made you faint with relief. The two of you got some extremely strange looks as your elvish horses trotted to the ramshackle building that served as a town hall, but nobody said anything. Dismounting in front of the building, you and Blink looked at each other for a long second.
"Are you going to tell them who you are?" You asked, breaking the silence.
He frowned, as if the question hadn't occurred to him. "I suppose?"
You felt a small pang. "Maybe you shouldn't. Right away at least. They might..." You trailed off, well aware of what the majority of your nation-- including you-- thought of Kozmir. And since they didn't know the prince...
"Worried for me, Princess?" He asked with a grin.
You were. So you nodded. His look made you want to do it again, but you didn't have time for that, so you said, "Just don't, yet. Until I can tell people who actually care 'bout what my opinion is."
"You're their princess, they gotta care."
You rolled your eyes. "Talin's never even had a female queen before my sister, I'm only a second princess and this is far enough away they'll barely believe me as is."
He shook his head. "Fine then, you can lead."
You raised an eyebrow. "I didn't think I needed your permission," You said with a soft scoff, turning and taking the couple steps up the wood porch and across to the door, rapping sharply with your knuckles.

Two hours later you were on the road again, this time in the most comfortable carriage the town had to offer. Which wasn't actually that comfortable, but it was something. It had taken a while to convince the 'mayor' of the town that you were actually Princess Y/N and not some scam artist, and you successfully passed Blink off as a nobleman's son who'd been captured alongside you. Luckily he hadn't said anything to contradict the story, since quite a few of the townspeople offered their condolences in the form of belittling Kozmir. He seemed to be still sulking slightly from your small spat. After you'd convinced everyone, you had changed clothes properly, and the fast clip that the elvish horses were still setting, you had high hopes you'd arrive in the capital by the next night. And Blind Diamond was on the seat across from you, slumped slightly against the window and sound asleep. You couldn't help a small smile as you looked at him, realizing you should probably rest your eyes yourself...

You slept well into the next day. When you woke up, a pillow had been placed under your head and a light blanket draped over your form. The carriage had stopped and Blink was gone. While you were trying to fully wake up, the door opened and he slid back in, the horses starting to move again.
"Mornin', Princess." He set a bag down on the seat beside you. You peeked in and saw two freshly baked breadrolls and two oranges. "I got you some food, since I accidentally ate the breakfast we got sent with."
You raised an eyebrow at him, pulling one of the rolls from the bag.
He looked sheepish. "I didn't get much to eat at dinner. It's kind of your fault, actually."
You shook your head with a smile, taking a bite. It was good. Really good, actually. "I don't see how that's my fault," You said innocently.
He shook his head slightly, refusing to indulge you.
"So where are we?" You asked curiously, peeking out a window.
"No idea. Somewhere in Talin." The prince shrugged slightly, moving to look out the same window you were.
You rolled your eyes, moving over slightly. "I believe we'll be there soon."
"The sooner the better," He nodded slowly, settling back into his seat as you grabbed an orange.
"Mm." You replied softly, hoping that you weren't too late.
