𝔗𝔥𝔢 knock turned out to be a messenger, announcing that the ship was arriving in port in exactly 27 minutes. Blind Diamond nodded his thanks and turned to leave the room, pausing. "They're gonna come by and give you a fancier dress. Wait here 'til I get back, 'kay? I wanna make sure I'm there when he brings you into town. You are supposed to be mine, after all." He smirked at you when he said it.

You rolled your eyes. "Ciao," You shooed him away quickly, collapsing onto the couch when he'd left, mind still swirling. Why not throw in a revolution? Two, really? Let's make life a little more difficult for Y/N, great idea universe. Pirates, more pirates, the literal King of Kozmir, oh yeah, and the crown prince, who's decided to keep you after all but not in the way you were hoping-- not that you were hoping!-- who's also way more handsome than any foreign prince has the right to be... no, your train of thought was getting off track here. The point was, when was enough?

The door swung open, and you added 'two irritable seamstresses' to your list as they firmly made you scrub up in a provided basin and proceeded to dress you in a dark violet gown, with thick leather bracelets that looked uncomfortably similar to the handcuffs. Closer inspection led you to believe they could in fact be used the same way. At least they were significantly more comfortable.

One of the women barked something at you, gesturing harshly to the door. You shook your head, sitting back down. "No, he told me to wait here..."

She blabbered something again, and you shook your head firmly, not particularly wanting to venture out of the relative safety of the room without Blink. Call it cowardly, but you preferred to think of it as strategy paired with a comfy sofa.

Thankfully, he appeared in the door just then. The woman turned to him and repeated her words. He gently replied in the same language, flashing that charming grin. How many languages did he speak?

His words seemed to soothe the woman, who left with her companion without a backwards glance. Blind Diamond crossed over to you, holding out his hand. "Come on, Princess, we gotta go. The King wants us up front when the ship comes in."

You rolled your eyes, and he laughed a bit, pulling you easily up from the settee. You looked at him approvingly, noting his black silk outfit, militaryesque in style but with a violet sash that perfectly complimented your dress. How you'd thought he was an ordinary pirate, you had no idea.

"Like what you see?" His smirk was evident as he led you from the room, snapping you out of your reverie.

"Yes," You said with a soft shrug, knowing it would do no good to deny it and wanting to see his reaction. It didn't disappoint, his eyebrows jumping in surprise and his slackened jaw quickly forming a pleased grin.

"It's nice to hear you finally admit it." He said with a soft smile, but it quickly fell. "And now I feel bad. I'm supposed to handcuff you."

Your hopes dropped slightly. "These are basically handcuffs," You said, showing him your bracelets.

"Yes, and I'm supposed to loop them together. More for ceremony than anything else." He displayed a finely woven cord, violet like your dress, that peeked out of his pocket. With only a small hesitation, he shoved it all the way in. "But I prefer to see you un-tied. It makes me feel less creepy when I tell you you look beautiful."

"I promise I'll stay right next to you," You offered, biting slightly on your lower lip.

He nodded a bit. "I'll take that. And if anyone asks... I'll think of something."

"Yes, I'm sure you will." You rolled your eyes slightly. But you didn't doubt he would... the believability was just questionable.

He bumped you lightly when you rolled your eyes. "Can't be doing that around them too much."

"I feel as if you're milking this slightly." You squinted suspiciously at him.

"Who, me?"

You shook your head, continuing to walk. "Are we continuing the "I act like I don't want to admit I'm in love with you"?"

"Probably." He hummed, nodding. "Maybe try to act like you hate me a bit less though."

You nodded back as the two of you ascended the stairs up to the main deck. He gave your hand a soft squeeze and you immediately fell into 'character', dropping your gaze to the floor and shrinking back slightly into him.

Blind Diamond turned and pressed a quick kiss to your temple.

"I thought you said you weren't going to kiss me until I initiated," You mumbled.

"In private."

"Nobody else is here."

"On the lips, then. I never specified."

You shook your head, fighting the smile. "Whatever."

He laughed a little, winked at you, and led you around the back of the ship to the prow. And right in front of it, you got your first glimpse of Kozmir's capital.
