𝔜𝔬𝔲 strode into the room and hugged your father again, unable to stop yourself. He smiled and hugged you back, drawing apart after a second and beckoning you to have a seat at the table of the small dining room you found yourself in. The table is filled with snack food, and Blink edges into the chair next to your seat, picking up a cracker.

"So. I believe a good place to begin would be to explain who this young man is?"

You blushed, for some reason, but nodded. "Yes-- uhm, well, he's Louis. Louis Baletti."

Your father dropped his grape, which bounced off of his plate and fell to the floor, unnoticed. "Kozmir's crown prince?"

"Yes. And also he's the pirate, Blind Diamond." You said casually, picking up your own grape.

"And just what is he doing here?"

"He helped me escape." You said, skipping over the fact that he'd also captured you.

"Reallyy." Your father raised an eyebrow and tapped on the table. The door opened, and a familiar figure walked in.

"Dave?" You jumped to your feet, mouth splitting into a grin.

"Y/N." He smirked, looking absolutely exhausted, but still coming over and giving you a hug.

"Your uncle has a slightly different tale of events." Your father broached the subject after a couple seconds.

"Oh. Yes, I see how he would," You mumbled, realizing the problem. "Well, he did. After. Because I ended up in Kozmir, and-"

"You what?" Davey and your father both spoke at once, and your heart sank slightly.

"Both of you sit down and just let her talk, kay?" Blink spoke up. "I promise you'll want to listen."

You shot him a look, half 'stop talking' and half 'thank you'. And then you begin your story.

*

It takes near an hour before they've received the abridged version. You've taken a few creative liberties in cutting out specific details that serve no purpose to the story, even though the prince makes a very soft noise each kiss you skip over.

"So why does he care?" David asked, jerking a thumb at the pirate.

"Because I'm engaged to her," Blink says before you can stop him.

You kick him underneath the table, hard. "He means, because--" You start frantically, but they've already heard.

"Engaged?" Your father and uncle chime at once, and you don't think you've ever seen either of them so affronted.

"No, not really." You said quickly.

"I mean. Legally." The prince shrugged lazily, as if he was enjoying this.

"Well, yes, but... this isn't the issue," You said again. "The issue is that Kozmir is invading, tomorrow."

Your father frowned but seemed to accept it. "David, go get the commanders. I'm afraid we'll need to question you further," he said to Blink, standing. "We need every bit of information you can give us."

Blink stood as well, so you did too, just so that you didn't look like an idiot sitting by yourself. "Of course, sir." He said with a nod, strikingly formal again. "And I'm willing to take Flurana juice, if you wish it."

Your father blinked, obviously surprised. You, however were slightly looking forwards to seeing him take the truth-telling drug. It was perfect karma for earlier.

"Yes, well, I suppose that couldn't hurt. Change of plans, then? David-- bring him with you, you can get the details in the guards rooms, make it less complicated."

The prince nodded and followed Davey out of the room. You made as if to follow, but your father cleared his throat. "What's all this about being engaged?"

*

Half of one extremely awkward conversation later, right as your father was prying out the details of if you'd kissed him; how many times, exactly, if you had; and if 'both parties were in agreement', a knock sounded on the door. One of the guards stuck his head in after your father bade him enter, a slightly embarrassed look on his face.

"The, uh, prince is refusing to answer questions 'ntil Princess Y/N is there."

You rolled your eyes, refusing to blush as your father breathed out a light laugh. "You've given him flurana, I presume?"

"Yes, he drank it." The guard said sheepishly. "But, Your Majesty, I'm afraid we don't have time to waste trying to persuade him."

"We'll be talking later," Your father said, pulling you into another hug. You accepted, feeling as if you couldn't get enough of hugging him now.

"Okay." You nodded as you pulled back and started for the door. You'd wanted to train anyway, so going down to the guard's area wouldn't be amiss. And you even had an excuse now.

A couple minutes later you pushed open the door of the 'interrogation' room, blinking slowly at the sight that awaited you. David was rubbing his forehead, slumped in a folding chair and facing Blind Diamond, who was also in a chair... with his hands handcuffed behind him?

"What..." You started, leaning against the doorframe.

"Y/N, hi." Dave looked relieved to see you, beckoning you inside.

"Hey, Princess." Blink smirked at you from his chair, sounding remarkably the same.

"Your Highness." You smirked back at him before turning your attention back to David. "What exactly is going on here?"

"He said he'd take the flurana so we'd know he was telling the truth about everything, so that we could trust him," David began, talking quietly. "Then he started saying how he's never been interrogated before but we didn't seem to be doing it properly. He said it requires handcuffs, and bright lights. And then he started talking about you and only shut up when I said I'd get you."

"Oh dear." You grinned slightly and took a seat next to David. "This sounds troublesome."

"Hey, Y/N, look at this." You looked over, per the prince's request, and saw him leaning forwards slightly, straining at the handcuffs. "This makes my biceps look amazing."

Your eyes involuntarily darted to his sleeves. You couldn't deny he was right. David cleared his throat and you ripped your gaze away.

"Maybe I shouldn't have let you come in," Your uncle said.

"It's the only way we're going to get straight answers out of him." You pointed out. "Maybe we should have just skipped the flurana, things would be significantly easier."

"Well it's too late now. And we don't have time to waste." David replied, and you nodded assent.

"Here, I'll question him." You said with a sigh, knowing it would probably work out best. Especially if Blink started talking about non-related material *cough*kiss*cough*.

David looked at you for a second. "I guess that would be best, huh."

You nodded.

"The questions are on the desk there. So's the key for the handcuffs, if you convince him to stop being so dramatic."

"I'm not a miracle worker," You grinned. "I'll see you in one hour, with answers."

David shook his head and started for the door. "I hope so."
