"Mother," Lisa greeted dryly.

There was an almost painful silence around the mansion as her mother's heels clicking while she gracefully went down the stairs smiling.

"They look so much alike," Rosie said beside me, "her mom is stunning," she added.

I nodded and kept quiet as Lisa's mother reached us. "Sawadee Kha," the lady said with a warm smile, Rosie and I glanced at Lisa for translation. She didn't say a word, as she stared motionlessly straight ahead.

"It's a greeting, like hello," Lisa's mother explained, and she side-eye Lisa.

We both greeted Lisa's mother like how she said it to us, she smiled at us and even touched us on the shoulder. Her mom gazed at us, brows knitted together deep in thoughts.

The way her mother's expression changes is so similar to Lisa's.

"Ah!" Her mother said very surprisedly while she snapped her thumb and middle finger, she put her hand under her chin. "You must be the one I talked to on the phone?" The woman said to me and glanced at Lisa who have a clenched jaw and now looking in my direction.

I just nodded and bit my lip, am I in trouble? Rosie then looked at me, too.

"Oh! Don't be nervous," She held my hands and smiled at me, "you do have a taste, Pranpriya."

"Don't," Lisa said hissing.

"Oh, come on!" Lisa's mom let go of my hand and walked beside me, eyeing me from head to toe,

"I said stop," She mutter furiously under her breath.

Her mother did the opposite thing Lisa had said, "you're the girlfriend, right?" She said it with a mocking tone, not to me but Lisa. "Do you have a sister?"

I shift my weight from one foot to the other, while I glanced at Rosie she's swaying slightly where she's standing, scratching the back of her neck. I moved my eyes to Lisa who is already looking at me, she just nodded and I nodded at her mother, too.

"Yes," I said timidly.

"Figures," Her mother said almost immediately and pierced her eyes at her daughter. "You look so much alike," her mother's words somehow demeaning and her voice staggering in its venom. "You're the oldest I guess." I raised an eyebrow at her mother.
