The sterile white walls of the hospital corridor seemed to close in on Lisa as she paced back and forth, her footsteps echoing with each turn. Her heart felt heavy with the weight of worry and confusion. How could a seemingly harmless amusement park ride have caused so much distress for Jisoo?

Rosé sat on a cold, hard bench, her gaze fixed on the ground. The silence between them was deafening, a reflection of the overwhelming emotions that engulfed them both. Each passing second felt like an eternity, amplifying the ache in their hearts.

"Why is this happening to her?" Lisa muttered under her breath, clenching her fists tightly. "Why does she have to suffer like this?" Her voice trembled with the weight of her emotions.

Lisa glanced at Rosé, who remained seated, she doesn't even know what to tell Lisa at this point.

"Chaeyoung, how can you be so calm?" Lisa finally blurted out, her frustration spilling over into her words. "Don't you see what's happening? How can you just sit there and wait?"

Before Rosé could reply, the ER doors swung open, and a doctor emerged, clad in a white coat with a solemn expression. Both Lisa and Rosé instinctively stood up and straightened their posture, their hearts pounding in anticipation of the news they were about to receive.

The doctor approached them with a gentle but serious demeanor. "Are you Lisa and Chaeyoung?" she asked, and they both nodded in response.

"I'm sorry," the doctor began gently, her voice filled with compassion. "We've conducted further tests, and the results are concerning. Jisoo's heart condition has deteriorated significantly due to the stress from the amusement park incident. At this point, she only has approximately a month left to live."

"A month?"

Lisa felt as though the world had crumbled beneath her feet. The room spun, and a sense of numbness washed over her. Her anger dissolved into a torrent of disbelief and heartache. A month? How could they be given such a limited timeframe?

"But there must be something you can do," Lisa pleaded, her voice breaking. "More tests, surgeries, anything!"

"Yes," The doctor looked at his clipboard, "a heart transplant."

As the doctor half-smiled at Lisa, a glimmer of hope flickered in her eyes. The possibility of saving Jisoo through a heart transplant offered a ray of light in the midst of their darkest hour. Lisa's heart raced with both anticipation and fear, but she clung to that sliver of hope like a lifeline.

"What are the chances for the heart transplant?" Lisa asked, her voice filled with urgency.

The doctor's smile softened, understanding the weight of Lisa's question. "It's not a guarantee, but there is a possibility," she explained. "We will need to conduct some tests to see if Jisoo is a suitable candidate for the transplant."

"Anything for Jisoo," Lisa sighed with a sad smile, "Thanks, doc."

Lisa thanked the doctor with genuine gratitude for stabilizing Jisoo. The doctor smiled warmly but redirected Lisa's appreciation.
