"Hey, Hela." He said, his voice strangely apologetic.
"John." I mutter, barely avoiding a voice crack.
"I guess I'll let you two catch up, but you will explain to me how you passed out, understand?" The doctor told me aggressively before walking out of the room.
"He's terrifying isn't he?" John asked.
"Yeah, just a bit." I mutter.
"So, it's been a while." John says, attempting to start a conversation.
"About a year and a half, you never visited."
"I didn't think you wanted me to."
"Honestly, I didn't." I say quietly, staring down at my hands, still on the floor from falling off the bed.
I hear shuffling, and glance up to see John sit next to me on the ground.
"I'm sorry for getting you into that place, and for my dad sending you the book." John apologizes, embarrassment clear in his voice.
"Technically, my parents kept me there longer then you did." I say, "but thanks."
"Yeah, I heard about that. Your parents dropping off the grid, I mean."
"Did my cousin tell you?" I ask.
"Actually, your sister left me a letter."
"Huh, I figured she hated you." I laugh.
"Oh, she does. The letter made that pretty clear." He says, slight terror evident in his tone.
"Should I be concerned?" I ask.
"Probably."
"She's so over protective, it's weird compared to how she was growing up." I laugh.
John laughs too, and the tension in the air seemed to fade a little. We sit in silence for a moment.
"Thank you." I say abruptly.
"For what?" He asks.
"Bringing me to the infirmary, I'm assuming it was you, otherwise I don't see how you would know I was here in the first place." I explain.
"Well, I couldn't exactly leave someone laying in the middle of a hallway. Why did you pass out?"
"A specific topic came up that I really did not want to talk about." I say, my voice cracking a bit.
"Other than me?"
"Yeah, though it did have to do your father."
"Oh, it was UnOrdinary, wasn't it?"
