We got back to John's living room, and I had expected to find Elaine complaining about having to treat the black haired boy's wounds, but instead she was nowhere to be found.
"Where'd Elaine go?" Seraphina asked, as Remi looked at John with a face that said she was expecting that they got into a fight.
"Oh, she just left. Something urgent came up, so she had to run." John explained.
"Hm, weird." Seraphina mumbled.
"Yeah, she doesn't usually leave without saying goodbye." Remi said.
"Well, she's the best healer the school has. Someone else probably got into a fight and called her for help like we did." I guess, and Seraphina shrugs.
"She said it was urgent, so that would be my guess." John said.
"Well, I'm gonna go home and sleep. Don't do anything idiotic." I tell john, gesturing Remi towards the door, "Oh, and don't go around lashing out at people."
Remi tries to hide her grin, and we walk towards the door.
"I'll try." John calls to me, rolling his eyes.
"Thanks for helping out!" Seraphina says.
Once the door closes behind us, Remi bursts out laughing. "You and Seraphina are the only two that can tell John what to do and only get a snarky comment, and that's saying something when he's a cripple."
"Yeah, sorry about that. I guess you build up a lot of frustration when everyone thinks they can pick on you, and get away with it." I explain.
"That makes sense. How do you and Seraphina get away with it then? You're both pretty powerful, and I know you could both beat him in a fight." She asks.
"Well, for the longest time, I was the only person who didn't pick on him, even low tiers would try messing with him growing up. I guess, he's learned that he can trust me. Seraphina on the other hand, I think he likes her."
"Wait, likes as in romantically?" Remi asks, startled.
"I'd beat money on it." I laugh.
"Oh, Arlo's gonna hate that."
"Let him, he's a jerk."
"Don't let him hear you say that." Remi warns.
"Didn't plan on it. Come on, let's get home."
"Hey, Hela, can I talk to you?"
