We barely make it back into the street before having to stop for a moment to catch our breath. That ends up being a mistake because only a second later, one of seraphina's attackers is running at her with a knife.
Seraphina doesn't have time to dodge, the blade stabbing into her side. The pain seems to break her ability free, if only for a moment, as she sends her attacker into the windshield of the van.
Another attacker makes his way around the van, only for Seraphina to stab him in the shoulder with the knife the other one had dropped. She starts to go back for the other two, but I hold her back as one phases into a nearby wall.
I shake my head, and pull her away from the van. She lets me lead her along towards the school, she's too busy trying her best to keep her wound hidden and focus on staying awake to disagree. I feel the same way, either because of the drug they injected us with or my slowed blood flow.
"Excuse me, you look like you're having some trouble." Someone says, grabbing Seraphina's shoulder, "I could help you out, if you'll come with me-"
She doesn't let him finish before pointing the knife she's still holding at him. I notice her eyes start to drop. I grab her arm and start running, hoping to get her adrenaline pumping again.
She wakes up a little as we go and mutters, "Elaine, call Elaine."
"Let's get to John's first, he's closer. It's not safe on the streets." I manage.
Seraphina only nods. I can tell it won't be long until she loses consciousness.
"Come on, stay with me until we get there."
