"Really? No way!" Isen yelled as Remi told the story of how the security guard caught her. Well, kinda caught her.
"Yep, she pretty much knocked herself out trying to get to me. I had to help her back here, then cuff myself." She explained. "I kinda wonder what would've happened if I had kept going though. How many security guards would it have taken to stop..."
Isen and Blyke looked at her confused when she cut off.
"You know, I've been thinking a lot about this lately. I get that the authorities are made up of some really powerful people, but what if someone like Seraphina or Arlo ever decided to challenge them?" Remi asked.
"They have their ways of combating pretty much anyone. Trust me, it would take a lot more then one or two high tiers to take them down." I tell her stoically.
"Does this have anything to do with that warrant the security guard guy mentioned?" Blyke asked.
"Yeah, I've got a bit of experience in these kinds of things." I mutter halfheartedly.
"I guess that explains why Arlo is so distracted by his responsibilities." Isen said.
"It's almost like they've been crippled..." Remi said sadly.
"Then, what about all the superheros running around? They're all high-tiers, but the authorities haven't done much to pressure them." Blyke asks.
'Theres that superhero stuff again, what's causing so many high-tiers to finally fight back?' I think to myself.
"Stupid Blyke. Don't you keep up with current events? Superheroes don't act in compliance to the authorities' wishes, then a mysterious group called EMBER appears and starts killing people off..."
"There's no way..!" Blyke mutters surprised.
"That's right, my man!" Isen says, seeming fairly proud of himself.
"That actually might not be far from the truth." I tell the two.
"Good news, kids! The four of you are in the clear." The security guard said as he came in, "but we've escalated this case to the authorities, so I'm going to need you all to give an official statement"
"Great."
